But after I fell, I just got back up and ran the race. Got last place but i had to miss the relay race but its whatever :/ This happened 3 months ago and my cut right now looks like a birth mark

My brother literally was in this same situation. He broke both his legs due to stretch fractures. He ran every day which caused his injuries (the couch told him to run a bunch of miles every single day). Our school won state for cross country, but my brother was on the sidelines. It was hard on my brother too.
@Woof1485 жыл бұрын
I had a very similar situation as you except I didnt do track I did dance. I broke my foot in this really strange way so I wasnt sure how I did it but at one point it started hurting whenever I danced. I thought it was just a slight sprain so I didn't pay much attention to it.. until it started getting worse. But still I continued dancing. At one point it started hurting really bad during a competition so that I could barely manage to dance. After that I could hardly walk. So, we decided to go to the doctor and get it checked out. We found out that my foot had an extra bone in it and when I twisted my leg it hit against another bone causing it to break. I had the cast on for 2 months. After that it would still hurt and i wasn't able to do much with it. Eventually it got better, but even now sometimes it bothers me. So I'm planning to get it checked out again before the next dance season. I'm just hoping it's not broken again.

I can relate. Last cross-country season I fractured my growth plate. My cousin beat me all season. It was disappointing, especially since I had already made such a great reputation for myself and had such a great love for running. I still ran anyways and still medaled at every meet. But I didn’t quite meet up to my own expectations. She told anyone who would listen that she had beat me. Track season comes around and we were put in all separate events at every meet. Each meet I ran the 3200, 4 by 8, 4 by 4, and did long jump. I worked hard all season, I participated in both middle school track and softball. At the last race I was put in the open 800, so was she. I was really nervous about the race and so was she. She even asked me to not beat her. This race I won, beat her by two places and I think around 12 seconds. As soon as she crossed the finish line she started crying. But, no matter how we did or whatever happened I didn’t go around with her name in my name, told people who asked and told some of my close friends the whole story. Still with the same passion in my heart I ran all summer and did a lot of 5k’s. We’ve started our cross-country season for this year and our first meet is tomorrow. I really hope I do great. No matter what I love my cross-country family.

I have a similar story. So I had PDHPE on the oval and the grass was wet cuz it rained that morning but my teacher still wanted us to play on it. Fast forward and I was chasing the ball and slipped. While slipping I heard a crack and thats when I realised something bad has happened. I couldn’t get up let alone walk. I was sent home and after going to the doctors to get x rays done, it turns out I fractured my ankle. I was disadvantaged, didn’t go to school for a week or so, I also made it to the next round of running that was the week after I fractured my ankle and I was devastated about the fact I couldn’t do it anymore. Especially considering the fact that I tried very hard to pass the qualifiers and I felt useless. My ankle is recovering and I am able to walk but still gotta wear the boot. It comes off in a few more weeks!

This sorta happened to me in 8th grade except I was in cross country. It was the finals and when I was nearing the end and I felt a little pain on my left leg. I was in like 10 or 9th place so I starting to speed up. I made it to 4th before my pain got even worse, but I just ignored it and kept going. I was say 10 yards away from the finish line. From previous races I had won I would give it my all and so I did that. I ended up winning but the pain on my leg was killer. I couldn't really walk so I sat down and watched the rest of the race. Later I checked my foot and saw it was bleeding and it was a lot of blood. I told my parents about it but they didn't really do anything. The pain went away after a week or two but now every time I run my fastest the pain returns.

Dang this video really came to me at the right time. I currently tried joining athletics for my Sophomore year and let me tell you we went all in the first day this week. And on the last sprint my left ankle started to feel terrible. The second day it was worse and left last because it hurt so bad 😖 I went to see a doctor yesterday but they said it looked fine didn’t took an x ray so I did plenty of ankle/foot exercises even before my training today cause I felt better now. And this time we just distance ran until I couldn’t anymore at the end I have no idea how I did it but it was painful. Mind you I haven’t been in the gym or anything physical activity in 3 years and sprained my left ankle 1 year ago. So now I don’t know 😔☹️ Currently resting my foot tryna make it better although there is no guarantee I’ll come tomorrow even tho it’s the last day for the week Friday. I just wanna recover already 🙏🏼❤️

I’m a “former” runner. I ran for a few years (I only stopped running for two months so I may get back into it although it’s much harder than it sounds). I never got injured but the running exhausted me. I really never liked it. Kudos to this guy! I was also a distance girl, in both cross country and track and meets gave me so much anxiety. I’m taking a break from competitive running, maybe even forever but not really sure yet, but I might start running on my own again, at my own pace. Especially in distance it is a very difficult sport and although I’ve never been severely injured thankfully, I’ve seen a lot of people who get very sore knees, (I have runner’s knee in both my knees but honestly I never really feel pain the majority of the time) pulled hamstrings and other pulled muscles. Some injuries can ruin their season like this guy’s - it’s pretty common to see a few people have this happen to them, unfortunately. When running, even landing your foot on the ground in a position that might seem normal to you may be totally wrong and you could get hurt. So, my point? Be careful in any sport. Try to set your own goals and take as much pressure off of yourself as you can. Be proud of yourself. ❤️ Although this was really random, thanks for reading if you did, and if you did I genuinely mean that I’m really happy that you did! :D

Track ruined my foot as well. I'm a sprinter, but my coach decided to have me try long distance. Big mistake. My tendons got strained and I could barely run. When All City came around, I got 5th. My very best time would have beaten All City's first place time. It was because of my injured foot. It's been 4 months and I am still not fully healed. It really sucks.

I am a contemporary dancer. I was doing like three four hour rehearsals each week for this big performance we had coming up. 3 weeks before the performance. I sprained my ankle at school. Nothing serious. It hurt a little bit so I was like I will continue going to rehearsals. I kept dancing and dancing. The pain instead of becoming less intense it became more. I was like “kill me now”. It hurt so bad. I still kept rehearsing though cause I didn’t want to let the group down. I did the performance while in a lot of pain of course. After that I went to the doctor again. He said that from a first degree sprain it now became a second degree one. It wasn’t that serious so I didn’t wear a boot but I had to wear a brace for three months till my ankle healed completely. What I learned was the same as the boy in the story: don’t push yourself too far especially when you are in pain physical and/or emotional. You will regret it afterwards.

Tbh I understand the pain. Although I never broke a bone, I hurt my knee while dancing and ended up pushing myself to hard while on a hike which ended in me on crutches. I can't dance for 2019/2020 classes and last year might've been the end for me :')
