I finally found the perfect place to build the ultimate car guy compound. Tons of car parts, tools, and a motorcycle were left behind. So today we're going to sort through everything, throw a ton of stuff away, and start cleaning things up. A new house, a new shop, and a place to build cars better than ever before... but the house has some strange secrets of it's own.
Rollercoaster Channel: ‪@UltimateThrills‬
MERCH: shopWatchJRGo.com

---------------------------------------------------------------
Common Questions:
What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus
What do I do for a living? Make KZbin videos.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
Where can I keep up with you off the bike?
Instagram: WatchJRGo
Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)
Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

A thought about the trailer jack, I usually put an upside down bucket over the top the jack when the trailer is parked. Keeps rain and water from getting down into the jack and making it hard to use.

One caution with high efficiency furnaces....ya may want to step ot down a couple notches....they are great amd save you a nomimal amount of money each month you use them. The downside, replacement parts are bananas....carrier and bryant draft induction motors $1,100 to $1,600....$1,500 blower motors, etc......you lose any savings and more the moment that 1st repair comes along. Those are just part prices...no labor

Nothing like watching your own trailer wheel pass you as your flying down the highway at 2am with another 500 miles still to go. My first reaction was - I need to get some rest the halucinations are real. Then I saw the sparks and noticed a drag with my load LOL. Had to get a massive tilt bed tow truck to pick it up and drop it at a shop in the nearest town... Oh 60 miles away. Had to replace both axles and hubs + new wheels and tires (and a fender when I got back home.) Added $2.5k to what was a killer deal on my de tomaso pantera! Fun times. And cat 3 for the TStat now that's some serious repurposing!!!

Was operating a fleet of 7 Nests. By Nest #8 (after Google and now they're milky-white with the "touch" ring) they'd changed the networking on the setup so it had to be done 100% on app. And then didn't work right. Junk. Now I'm down to 3 Nests and happily running 12 Ecobees. In one of the office buildings we had all programmable thermostats. But tenants just set it at their preferred setting and then put it on hold. So HVAC in those spaces runs all the time. Since moving to Ecobees we've cut the electric bill by a little over 18%. The Ecobees are paid for in less than 2 years. Tenants can still make their space as comfy as they like... just not when they're not there.

I started in with ecobee several years ago because i read that the remote sensor situation was better than nest, and the thermostats in my house were not located in great spots to keep the rooms i cared about right. They've always worked out great. Fast forward three years and as the IT director for my company I inherited the facilities director hat as well. We had a huge interior humidity problem, and huge problems balancing the temperature in our building. I put in 14 ecobees and put sensors in every room, which allowed me to track temps and adjust vents to properly balance the temperature. The ecobees can also be tweaked to widen the start/stop gap in cooling when it is over humid, because fewer long runs of the AC is more effective at dehumidification then more short runs. Also, in our business we have to log temps for regulatory purposes, and the ecobee smartbuildings software does all that for us. In the end, the ecobees have made a huge difference for us

I would definitely recommend going with a plastic vented high efficiency furnace. They can be sidewall vented or up through the roof. The bad part is the old furnace will outlast anything that you install now, besides a boiler. Heat pumps can save money but lose efficiency below 30 degrees or so. Air to Air versions are limited by cold outside temperatures. You may be able to install Geothermal wells, but the installation costs are high and payback takes a long time. Thanks for the videos. Good luck.

Had/have an EcoBee (original) for more than 10 years now with 3 or 5 sensors (currently only using 3) and it's been flawless. You can opt out of the "we'll integrate with your energy company" thing and the updates have worked without any issue. I've been tempted to upgrade but mine works just fine - set it and forget it - I've not used the geofence feature since someone is almost always home but I can see that would be a great feature.... Mine doesn't have a color screen and didn't want another home listening device - I think the remote sensors are more expensive in the new versions too.

I bought into the ecobee system when I put a zone controller in. I have three of those units feeding into a zone controller that then tells certain dampers to open or close. The reason I went with the ecobee is that it had the ability to group the three stats together and they share common settings like heat on/off, cool on/off, fan on/off so all three would change when you changed one unit from heat to cool. Then they turned off the grouping feature due to it causing some backend problems on their end and they didn't inform anyone about it. Just randomly one day I go to change my system from heating to cooling and the other two didn't follow. Still an issue a year later as we change from cooling to heating. And their scheduling is a little dumb. Can't change/manage schedule from the app, have to do it from a browser. Although using the smart sensors in rooms instead of basing the entire house off of one sensor on the stat in a hallway makes a huge difference by itself. You'll like it but it does have some quirks. And yeah that's the best stud finder ever. I've had one for a few years now.

I borrowed a buddy’s Big Tex trailer and while hauling it 350 miles to pick up a jeep the jack decided to all but completely lower itself. I went to back it into a driveway and it hit the lip of the driveway and bent it. Luckily every trailer shop sells them with the same bolt pattern so I bought a new one and when I returned it I had to explain why it had a new jack…. Live and learn trailers always have issues. Also have had to track down a bad ground on a marker light on an enclosed trailer that rendered all the lights nonfunctional. I feel your pain John…

Nothing beat the Honeywell T87F Those White Rodgers were OK Ecobee is a good choice... 1st Gen Nest was great...since Google took over... their sub bases fail continuously, and they don't sell just the sub base on their website. POS Product... I had a 1st Gen Nest and loved it... Fun fact... Your WR thermostat was made the 42nd week of 1977 and the control was replaced later on and was made the 5th week of 1985.

SUGGESTION JR, b4 everyone used plastidip for cars, i used it for my tools and to cover plastic pieces on my work trock and machinery that would get ruined by the outdoor elements or UV. Sand lightly, then Dip that jack handle in plastidip a few times....or coat with ur own preferred coating

I was so happy with my first digital thermostat until I went to adjust it. I had picked up a static charge from the carper and when I touched the screen, it zapped all the settings, and I had to re-set everything. I learned to touch the nearby light switch first.
