That is an integral part of transitioning, it brings hormone levels to the levels found in cisgender women. Despite the fundamental differences, a trans woman should still have her pronouns respected. This helps induce the changes that bring the body into line with the brain's gender. Sex does not mean the same as gender. The former simply defines one's biology at birth. The latter is a very complex social construct, based on thousands of years of human perception of what constitutes feminine behaviors, looks, tastes, habits, etc. If a person's brain is swayed so heavily towards the feminine end of the spectrum---and the person wishes to undergo the treatments to make the body follow---then it is not fair to continue to treat and regard this person as you would any dude. And when you say he's not straight for liking a trans woman, you are saying de facto that this trans woman is a man. That is very invalidating. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you don't mean it, but the way you put it comes off as, "please respect the heterosexual community by letting us invalidate you". I can only speak for myself here, but I'm not trying to take anything away from anyone, trans or cis, male or female. To this day, I only go places where they have neutral restrooms. To use one would put me at high risk of being attacked, to use the other risks making others uncomfortable. I deem neither acceptable options. Would I compete in a woman's sport? No, I would not. I may be a woman. I may be a she. But despite my hormones(a fatal disadvantage in any male sport, there is no getting past the circumstances of my birth. My larger than average musculoskeletal structure would still give what I feel would be an unfair advantage. But anyway, that's just me.
