Dwarfism can be genetic and if you don’t want to pass that on to your children, you have that right and there is nothing wrong with that. When I decided to marry my late husband, I did consider what I would be passing down to potential children and didn’t want to marry someone with a condition that could be inherited. I wanted healthy children and we had a beautiful and healthy son together. If you don’t want children, then physical traits are not as important, but I wanted children. We all have our preferences and that should be respected.

Unless you have genetic testing, you could have a recessive gene of something you do not expect. There are no guarantees in life. If you had a child with a disability, what would you do? Choosing a spouse based on their looks is petty. If someone cannot see past a person's looks, it is petty. I have a right to my opinion as much as you. I will agree to disagree with you. I chose to love the person, not their looks. I would not want to be with someone who was overly concerned about outward appearances. I can be polite, but respect is earned.

@Jim Many people have children who never knew they had genetic "defects". For many, if you love someone, that is all that matters. I use a wheelchair but never thought of myself as a genetic defect. Just because I cannot walk well, doesn't mean I am defective. Plus, there is always adoption, cats and dogs and other joyful thing in life. Not everyone has or wants to procreate. It's good that they are honest, because I would not want to live and love someone who could not see past who I am. We can agree to disagree. Thank you.

Her for having it be the first thing brought up basically. Social drinking is such a common thing, nobody thinks twice sometimes. I had a boss that got in trouble because she used to constantly talk about needing a drink to customers, but she caught the wrong customer once. A recovering alcoholic, who didn't find her humor cute.

I am a 63 year old woman who has never taken her first drink. I come from a family if alcoholics and decided that for me, alcohol should never be touched. I don’t however mind if someone I socialize with has a drink as long as they don’t get drunk. I would not however date or marry someone who drank. My late husband (married 40 years) did not drink, but that was because he hated the taste, not for philosophical or religious reasons. I just could not be in a relationship with anybody who drank.

I don’t drink n I have found that most people just can’t grasp it. They think it means that I only drink at Xmas or on my birthday or special occasions cz how can you not drink? Everybody drinks. Well I’m 44 and Havnt drank alcohol since I was 19. At all. There’s no big reason behind it, I just don’t like it. I don’t like the feeling of being drunk. I’ve never let it stop me going out, I used to go out clubbing every weekend and everyone around me was drinking and most were using drugs aswel. Doesn’t bother me at all. as long as your not causing trouble I think adults should be free to take whatever substances they want. In fact I find people behave much better on drugs than they do on alcohol. Being the only sober and drug free person in the establishment on many nights over many years gave me quite a unique perspective and I can confidently say that alcohol is the worst drug of all and the way it can make people act is defo a factor in why I don’t drink myself. My dad was an alcoholic and I’m sure that was also a factor in putting me off

As a disabled person who uses a wheelchair, I get staired at and asked if I need help, a LOT! I wonder if diminutive people get asked if they need help very often. If they do, I wonder if it is annoying or helpful. There is one store I visit, and every employee asks me is I am "finding everything alright? I wouldn't mind if they asked everyone, but they single people who use wheelchair out from everyone else. If you are a little person reading this, do you find this to be true for you too?
