Special thanks to the Mackay Land Rover Club for inviting me to be their guest speaker at their March 2021 Awards Dinner. My rambling was well received, and was a collection of my travel stories, travel philosophy and my early inspiration to hit the road and explore. A Q&A followed.

Thanks Brett. This made my day. I am a younster in my twenties and all I want to do is travel and tour, camping out of my defender. I am still single aswell, but believe I'll find someone with time. Definitely not going to wait around for them before I start to explore. Thanks. You are a massive inspiration to me.

Hi Brett. We are happy to see that you are planning your up coming trip. Wow 😲 the world has changed, and we sit and talk about you on how you’re going to travel crossing boarders. You are a very brave man and you certainly keep us entertained with your travels out there in the bush. You were right not to wait until later to do your travels. God’s got your back mate 🙏🙏🙏

Loved your comments re Australia shrinking. This country has truly lost the unknown. I did the Simpson in 2000 in what was a totally remote experience and didn't see one car during the trip. Then we did it a couple of years ago and the desert was like highway with so many people.. it was terrible.

Thanks for sharing Brett. I was just thinking the other as what you were up to. Like you I could quite happily spend a long time exploring WA and in no rush to try and fit everything in over a month or so... I've said to Shane the Sharkcaver (a WA 4WDer KZbinr I follow and also chat tp on Facebook) that I reckon I could quite easily spend over a year in WA and would have just scratched the surface. There's a few nice spots I could quite happily pull up camp and stay for a few weeks... like Durba Springs along the Canning Stock Route.
