I just did the same thing to mine - I've had my Sportmaxx (yes a sportmaxx which is a 2wd tmaxx) since 2004. It sat for a good 10 years and i just revived it with a similar engine

David B yeah no problem. I probably spent $150 with the elections and the trans upgrades. (Foreword only gear. And 2nd gear deleted. Save money with getting cheaper motors and esc. My motor is only rated for a 2wd on road and it still works perfectly with mine. But as time passes the motor get tired of all the weight and sometimes studduers. Hope that helps!

I have black trans with forward only and single speed with peg spur I keep messing spurs up after few runs

You have to set the gear mesh with paper every time the spur comes away from the pinion

I put put a bigger motor and it can run 6s. No tracks here. Im not competitive. Plus if you know monster trucks. They really don’t race at high speeds.
