Really nice build. Bit old now but would you say this intergrated rim brake version is more aerodynamic than the new disc versions?
@highcarbriderАй бұрын
Hey, yeah it's old now but still fast. I still race it but now have faster wheels and extensions. It is slower compared to the newer disc bikes but only marginally 3-5w. The biggest gains are in position, suit/socks and helmet. For example I found 18w (tested) in switching to Vorteq over shoes over the HUUB ones I was previously using.

@@highcarbrider 3-5W is hardly much! I am building a TT bike for 90km and the older rim brake bikes are much more affordable and a lot more parts around. Not sure if I want to put the money into a new disc frame.

Nice! You forgot to mention your aero Speedplay pedals.

beautiful bike! was wondering what you use for hydration, just the aero bottles? also do you ever use the rear aero box for storage as well?

Did you need to do anything special to get the shifting right with the Ceramicspeed OSPW? I've got one and I'm using a UFO chain.... shifting is super spotty. B Gap is huge, but if I narrow it I get the rumbling while back pedaling. I'm out of ideas...

My bike is very much like it, I want to buy it, where is the pub, price??

have you thought about removing the front mech hanger? On my bike I can remove it with 2 hex bolts, although the mark underneath isn't too pretty.
@highcarbrider5 жыл бұрын
Alan Braaa yes. I actually drilled the pop rivets off hoping it would come off but it appears to be glued on as well ☹️

No chain drops even without the clutch rear mech and a chain guard?
@albr45 жыл бұрын
probably not too bad on a TT bike like that, the larger front ring means the chain will be somewhere in the middle at the back so very straight chainline
@literoadie35026 жыл бұрын
Why don't you use a 14T or 16T small sprocket at the back? It would give a lovely tight spread and better chain lines in the most used gears, and with a 58 on the front, you've got plenty of top speed. Do you really need an 11T ?
@highcarbrider6 жыл бұрын
Lite Roadie it’s a good point, I do use the 11 on some courses but having another cassette option would be a good idea for more sporting courses for sure 👍

Can you tell me about your mono spacer on your bike. Is that a custom fabrication that gives it the angle it has?
@highcarbrider6 жыл бұрын
Hi, no the mono spacer only brings my arms closer together and helps me roll my shoulders forward. The TT bar angle is achieved tightening the bar adjuster on the rear and loosening the front one as the bar is clamped to the base bar on a rocker style so you can adjust the angle to your spec.
@markhenson66396 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. I have the 2018 Speed Concept and just put on the 45mm mono spacer and after I looked at the video I see that you covered the open space with tape or something. I will be moving my bars pointing more up in the near future as I get closer to my Ironman.

How’s this compared to your P5X?
@highcarbrider6 жыл бұрын
Chuangyee Bock the P5X was a demo bike, I never owned it but man it was a great bike. The two are very different to ride, the P5x is a 100% tri bike and is surprisingly comfortable to ride, I could ride it all day. My Speedconcept is pretty brutal and unforgiving if I’m honest. It’s not a bike I’d like to ride over a long distance but it is a very fast bike and that’s what I need. If I could change anything about this bike is just the weight but that’s the case with most TT bikes
@schmuak6 жыл бұрын
High Carb Rider Thanks for replying. Have you tried other saddles before settling on the Power saddle?
@highcarbrider6 жыл бұрын
Chuangyee Bock yes, started with the bontrager Hilo xxx and really didn’t on with it after a few rides even though initially I loved it, I then bought the fizik arione TT which they no longer make but switched to the power so my bike could be made uci legal. I have also tried a fizik mistica which I really didn’t get on with.
