Amen to that! I also love these cars but admittedly I love most cars from this era anyway. Joe Dirt used a beat up SuperBird in the movie when he went to pick up his date he later thought was his SISTER. He tried to get his "Hemi" out of hock earlier in the day but didn't have enough cash so they sold him an old SuperBird instead, claiming he'd "Stolen this pile". Aside from TV and movies it's been a LONG time since I've seen once of these in person. This was a flashy car in it's day :)

I like the beginning text dealie where some letters were there and the rest showed up :) and again with the blue car! but I did like the yellow panel truck better- my age is telling there I guess ! I remember at age 9 or so we went to a church in a 36 Ford coupe, I rode across the back window ledge lol:) I have a vid up about a rust bucket FJ40, 1978, that I "restored" on the cheap :) great music very fitting!!!

I was lucky, I saw these cars race. The very best time of NASCAR when they had big bore racing cars. One unusual race car. One car had both sides of the exhaust exit the rear below the rear bumper. With the combined sounds of both sides of the engine, the car sounded like a Fararri or Porsche sports racing car.

@FSXairpilot You have one picture missing, it is the one of the 7 cars of the 7 colors that Superbirds were built in sitting side by side on the Pocono Speedway. The Superbird has been my favorite since they come out but I could never afford one then & life hasn't treated me good enough to own one yet, not even a clone. I'm a purple nut & I'd want one in Plum Crazy with white top & interior & lettering, I'm not picky on the drivetrain...........Santa ................PLEASE! :).......LOL!

@morgansrule13 They quit making them because they couldn't sell what they had in the dealerships, some were sold after buyer had the dealer take the wing & nose off & make it a regular Roadrunner(wish I had all the wings & noses that were thrown away).

Manufacturers need to go back to the old times and start making rides like tihs again. Not sorta of like these or close to, but right down to the frame. Get rid of the pollution control crap and electronics. They have enough money, and it's very possible. American muscle is dying slowly and it's ver sad. There is a demand out there, and it needs to be done.

nope if you look more carefull the daytona and superbird have different size nose cones and the superbirds is a bit more steep and the wing is different

the reason the superbird and daytona had such low numbers is because nascar made dodge and plymouth make a certain amount of cars so they where production cars. and they lost money building the cars. nascar outlawd the design's after the 1971 so they had no reason to make em thumbs up so all people can read
