My Tribute to The Royal Mail 325s which are now out of service.

Having been a railway employee and a postie I fail to understand the logic behind getting rid of the trains yet again. OK the sets were aging like all of us but they moved more stuff per train load than a fleet of Artics and they weren't restricted by tachograph rules. Poor decision RM. Excellent tribute Mike. Nice tribute. A great shame and not the sort of optics we should be seeing…ie moving from rail to road. I imagine it’s driven by short term cost constraints, after all Royal Mail is a private company. With the cost of stamps going up every few months I doubt many letters will be transported soon.

Great tribute mate. It's a damn shame to see these units go, they were always a nice bonus to see whenever you were out and about and it just won't feel quite right without them. I just don't see the logic in taking them away and clogging up the motorways with countless lorries

I worked on the tpo's ,another bad decision to get rid, we shifted and sorted mail more accurately

Yes I think it was a great idea, and I used to post letter at certain station and the letter would arrive the next day. Another bad decision made by RM Martin.

Not a good decision? Your telling me Mike! Its just like the Arpley Peak Forest db hoppers they are going on to the roads!!!! All logic has gonrt out the window. More traffic and pollution on our roads. Sorry about the rant but the railways here have lost the plot oh and lets not start on the Db 90's axed too. Oh you are so right Ben about stopping these trains I just don’t know what them people who run the Royal Mail are thinking about when it comes giving the public a long distance service for our letter post.
