Exactly and that’s been everybody’s question since. Just wanted to clarify if he was adamant that he thinks he’ll win a trophy this year as well. Now he’s sort of changed his tune a bit I reckon and sort of said I’m not necessarily talking about this season but he still couldn’t help with a bit of corny arsed bravado. Also, he even belittled his little lapdog Ali gold when he asked a fair question about whether the young new signings would get a run. Yep that’s right those teenagers that this manager spent about 80 mil on.

I like Ange. He's a decent man but doomed at Spurs. Honestly don't think it'll change for Spurs. I was Wenger out since 2010, and even questioning him around 2018. Conte, Jose, Poch, now Ange never won anything there. After 2004 Ashley Cole, Viera, Oliver, Alexis, RVP, Cese, Henry, Hleb, Nasari, Henry, etc... All won more silverware at other clubs. This is not a popular opinion amongst AFC fans but Wenger was our problem the last 10+ years. We"re turned into a glorified top 4 team, nipping a FA Cup once in a while with a "top 4 finish is a trophy."

I'm always amazed at how myopic reporters are at times. They ask questions and then question the response they got in a way to search for their own narrative. Like layers, the line of questioning seems nefarious at times with the sole intent to generate controversy. Ange explained what he meant and yet "Ange pilling the pressure on..." Press conference questioning can be frustrating and annoy to listen to and can only imagine having to answer such thick questioning. I'm an Arsenal supporter and Ange is a good person who's trying to lead his team to silverware. It's not easy.

it's weird having to break down Ange's comments as an Arsenal and Celtic fan (yes I follow two clubs get off my back) He isn't wrong with his comments, he took a Celtic club that was absolutely broken (3rd in a two horse race), star players leaving left, right and center, owner that never spends money for big signings, people were saying Rangers were going to dominate for the next FIVE years, and he struggled a lot in the beginning, losing to a newly promoted Hearts and an old firm defeat, as well as a disappointing draw at home against Dundee United among other things. He turned them around and won the Double that season. Then won Celtic's world record breaking 8th Domestic Treble the following season. Now look at Tottenham. Last year they finished 5th (up 3 places higher than the season before) and they lost their star player and captain in Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, and they really didn't replace him. Yes they're behind Arsenal, yes it's very bold for Ange to make a comment about winning a trophy this year, but I do think if he is given time and, critically, the ability to get the players he needs (I personally think a striker like Kyogo Furahashi would be a major player at Tottenham) I could see Spurs being a bigger threat than the majority of people think...

Wrong. Completely wrong. This fanbase has for the vast majority backed this manager to the hilt since last season. They sang his name when he lost 4-1 at home to Chelsea with the high line for life mate debacle. This fans base wanted very badly to believe in this guy. It’s a complete misconception that spurs fans are the bogey man here. They are a long suffering fanbase. This manager had every spurs fan pumped up with his rhetoric and they all wanted to believe after his fast start last season. Since his first ten games last season he’s been found out badly at this level and he’s currently still on a downward trajectory and will need to turn that around very quickly less he’ll be sacked. Many, many spurs fans still want to believe in this guy despite the fact that his football and his rhetoric for the majority of his tenure ship no longer even deserve that. This guy has to this point gone on runs of form that could have been sackable at this level. He chose to deflect onto the fans by creating this narrative that they don’t want to win and only he does after he was the first spurs manager in 20 years to lose four games on the trot. He doubled down on that rhetoric before the NLD on Sunday and he’s now contributed 2/3 home losses to arsenal in a row. But all he wants to talk about is how amazing he thinks he is and he’s the only person involved with Tottenham that wants to win things. This doesn’t owe this guy anything. He’s shown that he has no respect for them and that he has no respect for the Arsenal derby or even Chelsea derbies. And I repeat they still sang for him after the high line for life debacle. This man owes this fan base. And quite rightly many are starting to turn.
