Hannah. The design is class. The pergola roof really adds a picture ceiling to the tropical vista ahead. The decking is a lovely feature to allow you to take in the mid island of the garden from a different angle. The yucca rostrata is a great idea but I agree potted preferable. I have 2 in raised beds that do great in the NE uk but very gritty soil and I rarely water. They do great unprotected in the winter here. The walkway choices of materials are superb. Spanish moss off the pergola would be a classy touch to finish. Great work Hannah👍

It looks even better, really ties everything together and looks more like a vacation destination than a yard lol❤. The Island would be cool with a small water feature even like a rock or urn fountain. A lotus or water lily container could also be cool. Also driftwood if you can find nice pieces would be nice to accent with :3❤.

No in fact the drainage is so much better. My lawn used to get boggy during autumn and winter. No drainage issues at all now

It all looks great Hannah, it really does! Can't wait to see it finished. I agree with other comments about the whole project giving a different perspective/dimension when looking out from your lounge and making your garden look bigger. It will look bigger still once the island bed has matured and blocked out the back of your garden from immediate view. It will create a journey of mystery as your visitors will want to follow the path to see what is behind the island. A red Bottlebrush or T-Rex on the island would look amazing! I'm all for less grass as that means more plants!! Is your decking going to be wood or low maintenance composite decking?

I am looking for them for a while but once came they are quite small! Your one is the perfect size. Also where to buy the wood like concrete things on the walkways please?? Thank you! Yes I designed it myself although it was the carpenters idea to add the nautical style decking, originally I was going to pave that area with some decorative tiles/slabs. The driftwood slabs are called Timberstone driftwood sleepers, lots of places online sell them. The rope came with the posts, I got them from a seller on eBay called Rich the postman. I have linked his details in a previous video, sorry can’t remember which one offhand 🌴🌺
