Beautiful Beautiful story! Please Please Forgive me DO NOT chop my head off. i'm just a little slow. Anyone else a little confused or lost? Around the part of her story about her childhood, hitting puberty and growing breast instead of going through what thee othe boys were going through. Her family not speaking on what she really was all along/unbinding her breast?????? I was VERY VERY confused and lost. I was waiting for the answer as of to why she grew the breast at the early age. I was thinking she was going to tell us maybe she was some sort of hermaphrodite or something of the sort. But she wasnt and she later took the harmons to trans. So I was just waiting for that reveal that never came or added up.... I love the story and streangth. I was born a women and she has me beat on looks hands down!
@karenreed38553 жыл бұрын
I am a 60 year old straight white woman who has the utmost respect and admiration for this woman. She has a phenomenal message about living her truth. My 35 year old son came out as gay when he was 15 and I've always admired his bravery in doing so. It's still scary for me to know that he is navigating this world with the hate that exists for people who dare to live an honest existence rather than what may seem like a safer existence, but I wouldn't want him to do anything different. I've known of and heard the stories of a lot of people with gender identification struggles but Dominique's story has given me the greatest understanding of how important living the truth is because of the lengths she has taken to be the person she was born to be. I realize that the greatest truth I can live is to have faith in and support other people who live their truth, without question.
@jenniferloftus23633 жыл бұрын
Let me reassure you that the fact that your son came out at 15 is part of the reason it is safer for him to be out at 35. Every one of us who stood up and said we are here, we are queer, get used to it added one more voice to a symphony that couldn't be ignored. We turned out to be more than just a joke on late night tv. It was easier to hate when there were less visibly out people. There are still people who disown their kids or hate their family members for being gay but it's not socially acceptable to do that any longer. It's a stunning reversal, but it's a great evolution, if that makes sense. You used to be encouraged to hate queer and trans folk, but now that has changed. The country is changing so quickly that some want to pump the brakes but it's too late. They lost the cultural war and they're losing the legal wars now. The act of identification was a courageous act of resistance. We have to remember to stay visible and stay vigilant because hate still stalks us, but every person like your son helps hold the door open to love. The majority walk through it, which is a wonderful thing.

A remarkable and courageous woman. Pose introduced me to her, I'm working backwards here to educate myself more about her personal story. She is helping to open doors for other trans women. All power to her, firstly for sharing her truth and secondly for just living her life with grace and dignity and showing other people that they don't need to hide or feel ashamed.

Barry Rosen I like that you say that. Everyone tells me that also. I can’t help but to impress them and live for them and represent them. I know I have to be me and live my life but I always want there approval

I can't believe such an amazing person was about to committ suicide because the society is fucking dumb and evil and can't mind their own fucking buisness. I admire her so much for choosing to be happy and for being able to tell such a story while smiling. I still cry my ass off talking about my coming out to my mother, and I didn't even go through half of the struggle she had to go through. LOVE HER LOVE HER LOVE HER. Amazing woman, amazing actress, amazing human

I just discovered the series Pose and it motivated me to learn a whole lot more about the struggles of transgender women. A lot of the subjects displayed in the series I had never given a second thought to as a cis gendered woman. I must say, that it has opened my eyes to the reality that although cis gendered women face dificulties in today's society, our fellow transgender women face a whole other level of difficulties that I had never even dreamed of. I am so proud of the actors/actresses who portrayed their talents on this show and opened my eyes to different realities. My favorite character was Elektra and I must say Dominique hs tremendous acting talent! I will always follow and support her from now on. (Please excuse any mis types as I am writing from a celular phone)

Love this video. I'm from Trinidad and Tobago myself. I'm not trans but I am gay, you yourself knows the judgemental place here is. My not out to the world but I'm starting to get more comfortable with myself and starting to come out to selective friends and it was love across the board. As recent as last week. Thanks for sharing

Dominque is an absolute role model and pillar of self-love. She makes the world feel safe and okay even when it absolutely isn’t. I wish she hadn’t been put through so much hate and trauma in her life and I’m so glad she found her power in spite of all of it.
