My Turkey: Native dog breeds Kangal and Akbash

Kangal and Akbash dogs are two breeds native to Turkey. These loyal breeds are known to be some of the best breeds to help with herding and guarding. They are very dominating in character but are also gentle giants that only want love.

@@raftaar3587 :)) what is your problem. Türks didn't and not create this dog. Only God can creat all kinds of creators, that's one thing you need to learn. Türks lived for so many years and had land in all over the world. We had these dogs when we were in Asia and brought them to Anatolia with us. Kangal and Akbaş (Akbash) were always Türks friend and family. They have the blood of wolfs but in time this breed was born. And finally, there is no dog better than the KANGAL and AKBAŞ. Cheers

@@raftaar3587 There are a lot of LGDs that are 'the best' at guarding livestock. The fact is that they are all very similar. everyone has this argument and it is very silly. kangal, Akbash, Ovcharka, Gampr, German Shepherd, Alabai, Great Pyrenese, Maremma, etc. They are all excellent dogs - all of them.

Huge dogs. I find so many big dogs in Istanbul. They are scary to me though they just seem to sleep all day. Turkish people seem to love dogs and cats.

Kangal male never cross 32inch and 75kg and females never cross 65kg and 30inch. Akbash have the same hieght of kangals and the male akbash weighs upto 65kg males and females upto 60kg

I found my Bella(looks like purebred Kangal) in the local animal shelter, because she wrecked her first owner's nice big house. She's a year old, and just 110 lbs.

My neighbor had a male rescue - named Kaiser. He was a very friendly dog - live about 15 years and weighed about 150lbs. Kept our block on the street safe that is for sure. I remember my neighbor telling me that they walked him twice a day - hour long walks. They need to be given things to do or they can get destructive. You will have great enjoyment from her.

I found my Bella wondering the desert without a collar or chip!! She hung out with my crew all day, and was hungry and thirsty. I said if she is still here at the end of the day I’m taking her home. I had no idea what a Kangal was, she has been the most loyal and sweet dog I have ever had. I’m waiting on a dna test, out of curiosity, but she looks to be 100% with little doubt. She appeared to be a year old as well, and after having her for almost a year I can surmise that she was probably dropped of because of the damage a 105lb puppy can cause. Patience, love, lots of money chewed up and we are down to the small things like hats or paper towels left on the counter! So, that’s two wonderful Kangal dogs named Bella.

@@timurzadeh6067 when i was 6 years old my father owned a Kangal in our backyard it was a very aggresive dog in that time and would attack instantly. Except to its owner he did not attack. These dogs need a big Yard to run arround in they cant be kept inside a house or in a small backyard. They will become like a prisoner in death row trying to shank you to get out and escape.

You can't purchase a Kangal in Turkey you have to be a Turkish Citizen it's a national breed and protected. Akbash and Anatolian Shepherd dog shouldn't be a problem.

Kangal ve kangal gibi ırklar temizdir ama bazı köpek türleri kendi pisliğini bile yer. Köpekleri ben de çok severim ama köpegin dogasinda bu var. @FssR islamda köpek tutmak haram değil. Hanefi mezhebine göre köpek sana değdikten sonra kiyafetini degistirmeden namaz kılarsan namaz olmaz. Özellikle salyaya dikkat etmen gerekir. Şafi mezhebinde ise üstünü basını değiştirmek yetmez.
