Sweet rifles friend. Especially the flint lock. Make you some black powder. It’s really easy.

I bought the Squirrel rifle in ,40 Cal. but mine A percussion lock. The critter carved on the lock plate on mine was a squirrel. Bought in 1963 from Dixie. Stock came in the white, meaning not stained just sealed. I removed the coating, stained it Walnut Brown and resealed.

I love Dixie Gun Works. I recently purchased a walker colt revolver big horse pistol and lots of fun with 60 grains of 3f

I've had a Tennessee Mountain rifle in flintlock for about 40 years. I replaced the lock with an L&R replacement lock which is a fantastic lock. Very fast and works with any granulation from 4 to 2 in the pan. Twist is 1-56. I have a good source for black powder so that has never been an issue. Still have over 30 pounds on hand. You have a couple nice finds.

Those original Dixie rifles were made in Belgium. As I recall Turner took a couple of original rifles over there for them to copy. He had 500 flint and 500 percussion Rifles made. They were all made in 40 caliber. Later another contract was made for more in 45 caliber. The later poor boy type was made in Japan. Both gun guns and at great prices. Congrats.

Nice muzzleloaders. I don't have any and don't know a lot about them, but a few years ago I was at a range sighting in my deer rifle and there were a couple guys there shooting their muskets. I was curious so I started asking questions about them and the next thing you know I was shooting them lol. It was a lot of fun!
