I had same situation with 2 trd females, entact and breedable which is what probably set it over the line during a heat cycle. I HAVE TO DISAGREE with this video at some points. Mine had repeated fights over a year and a half time. We have had success with managing them with muzzles. They are tolerant of each other now and we all can move freely over the home with the muzzles. I DO AGREE that the chain idea is not great, allowing freedom of movement so they can "escape' each other would be better. We have had great success with the muzzle and also CCR work, coupled with setting rules and boundaries and not allowing them to be broken, ie. We don't allow the one girl to suppress or crowd the other, so while they can be free moving with the muzzles on we make sure she understands personal space.

I totally agree. I've resolved issues of 3 dogs, not two, in the same home where they had all had fights between them and not one of them could be left unattended in the presence of either of the other two. Are they best friends now?? Absolutely not. Do they tolerate the presence of each other now and can they be in each other's presence without violence? Absolutely. BUT, it requires being willing to establish leadership in the home and to correct and punish the aggression.

I was in this situation 3yrs ago, we took on a 2yr old gsd bitch, we already had an 7yr old gsd bitch. They quickly took a dislike to each other and had some awful fights. The young bitch had never had any training or even excercise prior to living with me and was dog reactive so i quickly found a good trainer and put in the work which helped a lot. I had to have strict management around them and did use muzzles if they were walked together. I never left them alone together even for short durations and still dont. They now tolerate each other really well and are neutral but its taken micro management for 3 yrs which isn't for everyone. Im lucky we're on a smallholding so we have plenty of room and I'm home all day. I agree with all the advice in this video but it can be done in certain situation if you can step up and do the work... good luck

She needs to find a real life trainer who has had a high degree of success in this area and do in person training sessions or an in-house board and train with the trainer.

Thats true , but I hate to say this but there are far more unqualified professional trainers out there than there are people who have serious real life experience dealing with dog aggression. A good chunk of them are Vets

I have two intact BC’s the older one is the boss, the younger one respects her. I dont put up with any aggression. So i dont have any fighting issues. Started to happen once and they never did that again. Because im the pack leader

That’s great but it doesn’t always work out that way, regardless of external factors (leadership, training etc). Ed says it all perfectly here.

Would introducing a bear into the equation maybe help in anyway?
