What a great kid. His parents should be so proud of him. He was fortunate to grow up with a lot of love. Many kids of straight parents don't have this. And they suffer for the rest of their lives.

Two gay moms or two gay dads, they're capable of being loving caring parents, this young fella is proof of that. His mothers did a great job raising him.

I feel a mixture of jealousy and pride. Jealous because I never got to be raised like this as a kid, and proud because same-sex parents are parents and nothing more.

I don't think there's anything abnormal with how he was raised from infancy to adulthood. I find people who think otherwise are either abnormal or plain bigots. He was raised in an atmosphere and environment filled with love. For that alone he is abundantly blessed for love conquers a multitude of transgressions!

Modern reasearch has shown that what makes a good father is not that different from what makes a good mother; Two parents are generally better than one, but while fathers are sure nice to have, it's way more crucial that the children get a good example of what a loving relationship looks like and a good example of how people should treat each other. After all, single parents can sucessfully raise children, and gay parents even have an advantage over single ones: There's two of them.

...which allows for situations where they have to reach a consensus, or where one can be harder and discipline the child, with the child still feeling that they can have support in the other. My parents are a very traditional heterosexual couple, my mom even stayed at home while I was very young, and that still wasn't a guarantee for happiness - my father was always dismissive and disrespectful of her. I'd rather have no father, but parents that love each other and don't argue all the time.

you're absolutely right sweetheart. kids may be bullied or looked down on for being raised by gay parents. but really, when you think about it, is that a justification for gay parents not to be allowed to have kids? because some straight parents don't take the time to raise their children to not hate and make fun of kids who are different? who does that really reflect poorly on? not gay couples, if you ask me. things are different now and it's more common. and thank god for that.

"So where is Zach's father?" All they needed to make a baby was sperm. There is a sperm donor somewhere. Ejaculating sperm doesn't make you a father. A lifetime of commitment makes you a parent ( a mother or a father) - not a simple bodily spasm.

+briana moreno Exactly! He just said that he was raised by two women. With the same logic, when someone who was raped by their parents tells their story and there's a video of them telling it, it should be considered as encouraging rape.
@AlongtheFarClimbDown8438 жыл бұрын
+Alex Joan Rouvaki : Why must any household (normal or abnormal) be sexualized? Why is there a pathological need by homosexuals to include children in discussions concerning the "merits" of homosex?
@KIMFOYX8 жыл бұрын
Procommenter What do you mean sexualized? Because there's this homophobe's pathological need to forcibly falsely declare a family dynamic and enviroment as abnormal and damaging for children when there's no scientific evidence of such a thing and when children not only turn out as normal as the ones raised by heterosexual couples but they can be very sucessful as well. For your information though, it wasn't Terri and Jackie (the couple in the video) who encouraged Zach (their child) to do all these supportive motions towards them but on the contrary, it was his idea because as he said in another video, when he was younger, a lot of times he would hide the fact he had two mothers & joke about gays so he could be one of the "cool" guys. Now though that he's older and more mature, he realizes that this act of him was immature and unfair and betraying because his mothers raised him with love and have been good parents in general, so he testified in the court because that way he felt he was making up to them for what he did and said and how he didn't support them to his classmates. After that, as you know, the video went viral and after realizing the power he had in informing others, he decided to do further anctions to inform the society about his family and how there's no real difference between having gay parents and straight parents. That's the whole story. No parents' "we're normal, ask our son" forcing.
@KIMFOYX8 жыл бұрын
Procommenter Also there's nothing said about sex between peoople of the same sex, it is only said there's a homosexual couple who has raised two children, one of which is Zach. Also there's no encouragment towards children in the whole video. This is not a kids documentary and it is as related to encouraging minors into having sex with the same sex as a heterosexual wedding is to encouraging them to have sex with a person of the opposite sex.

@johnkeeber575810 жыл бұрын
AarontheArtist57 Although bullying is common, and like you pointed out Our black friends and neighbors have faced it, there is no reason behind bullying. I was bullied and assaulted daily all thru high school simply because I was the "new guy". But, as it had become almost habitual, when there was a newer guy, he was excepted, and my abuse continued. And back in 1970-73 even teachers and administrators didn't give a damn.
@KIMFOYX8 жыл бұрын
+John Keeber Yeah basically bullying has to do with who is vulnerable enough to take it and who won't take it. I was bullied because I was overweight and yet there was another kid who weighted way more than I did and he was accepted. Well, teachers and administrators don't always give a damn nowadays too.

Marriage is unique because it involves the union of two humans. When a man and woman engage in sexual intercourse (in which the word "sexual" only has meaning because of more than one sex involved) their bodies literally unite into one physical entity. The result of such a union is so strong (assuming contraceptive aren't used) that in nine months you may even have to call it a name. The law can call whatever it wants "marriage” and give the participating parties the civil perks. However, I am not arguing this. I am informing society that homosexual activity is not physically unitive.
@acloudofblackmist8 жыл бұрын
I think society is already aware of the point that you are making, but what society is understanding (slowly) is that love is beyond physical intimacy. And stop painting sex between a man and women as a holy-union, which it can be, but it can also be a lustful primitive act.
@markwilkie76338 жыл бұрын
love does indeed come in many flavours. doesn't mean all of them are good for us. and i don't think the members of society who you believe to be "slowly" recognizing that love is beyond physical intimacy are the ones who don't know that.
@jarabaaearthwanderer54978 жыл бұрын
What does Zach Wahls think of gay male couples, one wonders? He clearly restricts his concern to defending the rights of lesbian couples and their families. Interestingly, we are shown an image of him in a Boy Scout uniform; and we all know that the Boy Scouts of America fought through the US courts at all levels for many decades to maintain their policy of excluding all boys and men of homosexual or bisexual orientation from any form of membership. So the film makes the point that Zach is a wholesome normal heterosexual man - raised by two wholesome normal lesbian mothers. And that's impressive. But the idea of gay men as possible married couples or as parents is not even touched upon in this video. Presumably In The Life Media limit their support and advocacy to female couples and their families. As the title of his book makes clear, Zach chooses to focus exclusively on "moms" and the "love" and "strength" which they put into making a "family". It would be interesting to know whether he thinks that two "dads" might conceivably be capable of simlar "love" and "strength".

The ones who are ruling by terror are religious fanatics who are constantly screaming in their faces that they're going to hell, that they should drop dead, that they're unnatural and that God will smite them.
@charlesmamet89977 жыл бұрын
There are np doubt some children that can deal with it and are very Happy but there are countless others who struggle with it, but because the voice for Marriage equality is SO strong and divisive that they are afraid to speak out. We are not hearing about the donor/s in the equation, and mostly we don't hear about what happens to the surrogate mothers of Gay couples children. there are differences at least in a Lesbian couple the woman can conceive and the donor may not care so much. but in the case of a surrogate she has carried the child and there are inevitably a bond that is created. What about her feeling? I know you will tell me that she did it voluntarily may be in some cases but the majority are mothers who desperately need money and are exploited. This is what I think.and I will Definitely vote NO.
@TheBachuki077 жыл бұрын

I disagree Mark. Everyone deserves a good parent or parents; whether they are of the same sex or opposite. I had a mom and dad; one of which was abusive and drug-dependent. If two people can provide a loving home that is all that matters.
@markwilkie76338 жыл бұрын
