My U.K. Tropical Style Garden. Using just Green for shade.

Beautiful Garden. I wish i had a shaded area in my garden. I am struggling to find lush hardy tropical plants that can take full sun and evergreen. Do you have any recommendations.

Thank You. Shade can sometimes be Created by other plants as they grow or structures in the garden. This area of my garden never used to be very shaded but as plants have grown I’ve had to evolve it as the canopy above has grown. For full sun I tend to use plants like Chamaerops Cordylines Phormiums Yuccas Nandinas Pittosporum For evergreen interest

Very relaxing for sure. Very nicely put together. The fronds of the tree ferns are fantastic. I just bought a couple more as my single one I bough last year was getting lonely.

Utterly beautiful. I hear you on the mixture of greens whilst not confusing the brain too much. I love the whole vibe of this area and the lean of both the tetrapanax and polycarpa is perfect. Very inspiring

Everytime I see your tree ferns I want to cry. They are spectacular. Tree ferns are not available in Canada. And no retailers will ship. 😢😢😢😢

That must be very frustrating to not be able to get any tree ferns. Now we have had Brexit it’s hard to get some plants in the U.K. from Europe that we used to be able to get and it’s really annoying.

Hello I have e a dicksonia in a large pot its not doing very well, fronds are small, how long can I leave it in the pot?

Hi. They can last a long time in pots but are better in the ground. They just need to be well watered and ideally better in shade. Plus winter can set them back if to cold and not protected from bad frosts.
