I think it looks great! I love all your windmill palms and you have done a great job in filling every spot. You have lots of cool plants.

Thank you. The palms are the backbone of my garden and I wouldn’t be without them. They give me height and winter interest. Cheers. I appreciate your comment.

Very envious of the size of your garden, also like you I love rare plants . You have so many I'd like. Your right about wanting changes.... I'm never completely happy. Even though friends and neighbours say wow when they see mine I'm always of the opinion that things need moving that haven't worked. I'm sitting here now looking out thinking of moving a phormiam that's obscuring a view of my schefflera macrophila lol. Great work as always you should be very proud.

Thank you. I’ve been fortunate to film some amazing gardens for my channel and all the creators of these gardens have all had things they want to improve or are not totally happy with. As long as you don’t see it as a negative thing it can drive you to make your garden better each year and I find that exciting. Cheers.

It looks amazing! I love how vibrant and green everything is looking in your garden. As always I look for inspiration from your garden. I look forward to seeing how the pond looks next year if you get the time to do it.

Had the same problem as you just south of Birmingham, UK. Someone told me to put beer in a pot and push the pot into the soil so the snails, slugs can climb up and in. I took it half serious but tried it and was tipping pots full of slugs dead every day and no more issues.
@tikitropicals65
@tikitropicals65 13 күн бұрын
Hi. Yeah beer traps are used by many people to help fight against slugs and snails. I personally don’t use them but they can be effective. I think next year I need to make more effort to fight them earlier in the season to keep the numbers down. Thanks for the comment.

Your comments at end were spoken like a true gardener. I’ve found you are never satisfied with your garden and always want to try new things and continue to try and perfect the ultimate look of the garden. I look forward to seeing you new projects and plans cause it challenges me to try new things with the ideas you come up with

Hi and thank you. To be honest I am never happy with my garden but not necessarily in a negative way. I know it’s a nice garden and I have some nice plants but I want more than nice. I want to feel that it has room to improve and I enjoy the process of improving it. If I ever get to the stage I’m happy with everything I think I would get bored and have to change something anyway. Visiting other gardens inspires me all the time and I love it when new ideas come into my head. Hopefully they work out if not I will try again. Appreciate the comment as always. Cheers

Hi and thank you. The posts came from a local fencing supplier. If you search 200mm round treated posts you may find someone local to you that sells them. Cheers.

Great work, I think gardens with a central lawn surrounded by crammed borders look the best as it gives a sense of perspective rather than immersion. All of my persicaria is in pots as I’ve read it’s invasive, do you find this?
@tikitropicals65
@tikitropicals65 11 күн бұрын
Hi and thank you. For me Persicaria in general I’ve never found to be invasive. Yes it grows quick to form a nice clump. It can easily be dug out and divided if it gets too big. It is related to Japanese Knotweed so that’s where a lot of people get worried. It is not however anything like that in its behaviour. I have never had any fear of planting them in my garden. Cheers.

Hiya nice video. @17:38 what is the variety of Aucuba you have on the right hand side, underneath the Mahonia and beside the Carex grass? Looks potentially like February Star?

@@tikitropicals65 Would you ever be minded to sell or swap a cutting etc? I’m developing a collection of choice Aucubas within my exotic garden and have longifolia, salicifolia, picturata, dentata, himalaica var. dolichophylla if you wanted to add any of them to yours?
@tikitropicals65

@@Valleyoftheyuccas No problem. I will go out this evening and take a couple of cuttings and see if I can get them to root. If you have Facebook just message me through my TikiTropicals page. Cheers

Beautiful garden. I’ve been attempting this style for a few years but don’t have the structure that you have. How long have you had the big palms in for and how big were they when you put them in?

I have a manihot grahamii that I grew from seed. Currently about 8ins high and will be keeping it indoors over the winter. Where did you get your Brassaiopsis Misis, very envious!

Hi. Most have the palms have been in 10-13 years some more recent. Some were brought bigger off ebay and I went and dug them up. My largest one now was planted 11 years ago with a foot of trunk and has now overtaken all the others with a trunk over 5 metres. Cheers.

@tikitropicals65 14 күн бұрын
Hi. Yes it was really bad for slugs and snails this year. I was going out every night collecting them. It really has made a difference though and is something I’m going to be much better at next year to keep the numbers down before it gets too bad. Cheers

@@tikitropicals65what do with the slugs and snails after you pick them up ??
@tikitropicals65
@tikitropicals65 13 күн бұрын
@@kateeveritt3292hi. I put the slugs and snails in a tub or bucket and then take them down my road where I have a huge wildlife area with woods and a lake 5 min walk from my house. I tip them there and leave them to it. I do feel a little silly walking down the road at night with a bucket of slugs but it does the job. Cheers.
