The Smallrig SSD holder clamps can be lifted and further tightened. The little "block" that happens can be used for holding HDMI/SSD cables in place which is handy. Would you still recommend this exact build in August 2020, as I'm looking to purchase, and also would like to know the cost approximation if possible for this rig or a more up to date one?

@@forrestlotterhos2326 If you can focus by yourself and have proper light, yes. No doubt. If you want to do the "youtuber/filmmaker" thing to just record in 120fps and blablabla then go for a Sony

I have a similar setup, I went for Tilta instead of Smallrig/Camvate but it works damn well.

hey Chris, really awesome work on rigging the camera! I’m actually interested in getting the Camvate base mount but my intention is to place the npf battery horizontally in between that base mount. Do you think it’d be possible to do so?
@ChrisFranklinJr4 жыл бұрын
Hey David, thanks for checking out the video! I just checked my Base plate and I don't believe its possible to fit a battery on it; the gap is just too small! BUT you may be able to velcro one to it or something!

Rip to the photo lense being used in a cinema rig , you thinking of investing in Cine lenses?
@ChrisFranklinJr4 жыл бұрын
Haha I am! The glass that I'm getting is about $1500 a piece, and I'll be buying a set of three. So $3500 compared to the $700 Sigma. The cine lenses have unique characteristics to how they interpret the light, but not enough to make me get them before working with the sigma. It's far too convenient!
@TilakLimbachia4 жыл бұрын
Chris Franklin yeh I suppose let me guess your getting the Xeen right? Also it does a bit more than that like changes colour too

@@TilakLimbachia those are the ones I've been looking into! I feel like they're gonna give me the best output for the money but I still need to do more research! Any recommendations?
@TilakLimbachia4 жыл бұрын
Chris Franklin yeh I mean depends on what your shooting, you mentioned convenience right? so yeh I’d say if you can get those as your workhorse lense if not they do a cheaper Rokinon one, just so you can use to primes pulling focus manually
