Extraordinary selection again, Miranda!! Thank you so much!! And everything so elegant as usual 🥰, your channel is a beautiful and peaceful place in the this crazy world. About the titles, just a comment about "The Shell Seekers". I love the book too, and I've read it three times. When I was 30, when I was 40 and last summer (52 years old), and the older I am, the more I understand Penelope. Thank you again and have an excellent week, you and Donna!❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@karenhaire5451 It's such a nice place! A couple weeks ago our daughter took us down all the way to Hatteras but it was a Sunday otherwise we would've stopped at that bookstore (they were closed)! I'm sure it's a treat to visit! My daughter works for the fund that cares for the Corolla Wild Horses. You probably know about their history since you go to OBX every year. It's fascinating! Hello Miranda, I watched this lovely surprise video after my evening walk with a cheeky midweek drink as you suggested!😉Some of my favourites are here as well as some new titles. I never tire of rereading the Cazalet Chronicles. Bitter Orange is ready for my summer pile and I can’t wait now! I will read the book club reads plus some very summery titles including Penelope Lively’s Heat Wave and Eva Ibbotson’s The Dragonfly Pool - a children’s book but I love her writing for children. Mary Stewart was perfect for summer holiday light reading last year. I’m also thinking of trying a Big Jubilee Read by one of the Commonwealth authors as a new departure for me- there are authors I’ve never heard of. I particularly love your bedside recommendations. The Rupi Kaur poetry intrigues me, as does How to be a Wildflower. Now you have given us your summer list already, I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store over the next few months. Thank you.😀

The annotated edition of Mrs Dalloway looks gorgeous 🥰I read Tess last fall for Victober and enjoyed it enough to know I will reread it again someday, as for Emma, I love all the Austen novels and I’m reading it in July for Jane Austen July. I’ll be watching and rewatching next week’s comfort club chat about it. I read Passing many years ago and loved it, and I realize it’s also do for a reread. I also finally read The Remains of the Day earlier this year and was totally captivated by it. I also think I’ll pick up the Go Between for a First read and then reread Atonement. I read it years ago when it was first published and didn’t understand the hype around it, but I love the idea of reading it in conjunction with the go between and giving it another shot. Oh, and Rosamunde Pilcher! I love her books. And that’s another reread I need to do also. Your edition of China Court is beautiful too. And I loved it so much. Still, I picked up a few new ideas from the video, very grateful as usual!

I've been having a clear out of some books, really just to make room for more as I listen to you each week and add more and more to my list but I couldn't part with My Family and Other Animals. I always have a chuckle at Gerald Durrell's descriptions. I will definitely be adding several other titles to my summer reading list! Hi Miranda, just found your channel and I've been bingeing so many of your videos all the way from the beginning of your channel. You've inspired me to read more early 20th century authors...right now I'm reading Molly Keane, right from her first novel The Knight of Cheerful Countenance, written when she was only 17. Her youth shows a bit but I think it will be fun to see how her writing changes over time. I'm actually a rare book librarian in the States, so I'm also so drawn to your collecting stories as well. A question for you, since if anyone might know this off the top of their head it might be you (or your mum!)...I'm looking for recommendations for books set in Southampton, any time period, but ideally pre-1900 (but it's fine if they are written later). Any that come to mind? Thank you and cheers, Kim
