My Unfortunate Nationals Experience ( + Branded Decklist)

Judges giving a game loss for a misplay is so stupid. Anytime I've been in situations like this, even if I have multiple warnings, the judge just has us rewind the gamestate and move on. I can't imagine as a player to be calling people out for small misplays that can be easily reversed, especially if it's obvious the other player isn't feeling well.

well, if its rewindable anyway. but yea, if youre playing the card its kind of on you to catch the misplay, i mean its the card YOU brought to a tournament lol

Hey Galzo, you shout out Sleeve Chief for all the gear but put that incredible BLS box to the side? As you understand from my profile pic, I'm offended!!! It's sad to hear non-YGO-related issues prevented you from performing as expected, I still remember dropping a regional at 6-0 (every game clean 2-0) due to fever. But trust me it's better than feeling cheated while playing, to the point you are not in the mood to play at all. I was x-0 and on round 3 (or 4) my opponent shuffled my deck faceup, I told them to do it properly and they apologized so I didn't want to escalate by calling a judge, then I just completely bricked. In game 2 the opponent did it again and while I was furious, I calmly asked to not do that (there was a language barrier and I didn't want to sound rude), again I didn't call for a judge, and guess what? I drew the EXACT SAME hand as game 1 (they also drew almost the same hand as in game 1). I got extremely tilted after that round, next round the opponent was very nice, and while I could "steal" game 2 in time and make the match draw I just gave them the duel and dropped because I didn't want to play anymore. Who is to blame for that? Me. What makes me feel guilty is not what happened to me, but that this could have also happened to their next opponents and because of me not reporting these incidents judges there wouldn't have precedent to easily use.

Fudge, that's so unfortunate. The declkist seemed solid, though. I am torn between Dark Ruler No More and Droplet in main. Droplet being a quick play gives you more utility. Thanks for the insight.

Sorry to hear you couldn't compete to your best ability. The deck list looks fire. But at the same time I'm not a huge fan of people entering events when they are sick. Sure it's a once per year opportunity but you risk infecting others. That's not worth more than a potential title.

It sucks to hear it. I had a similar experience, getting two warnings in 1 match is not something anyone would wanna go through. Don't let that experience get to you and hope the next one is better. If it means anything. Branded did win UK Nationals. Still strongest.

Now it’s summer and I can’t wait to get back into the game especially after Branded’s performance at UK Nats but I gotta heal up first…

I played nationals this weekend and the games i went first, duplication was insane but if i lost the dice roll, it was not that good and sometimes i had no way to dump BF through a board or through veiler and imperm

Dang bro hate to hear about you getting sick, know it messes with prepping. Idk how you feel about this tip I'm going to give. But when notice I'm getting sick I drink half a bottle of nyquil. Worked for me ever since I was in high-school. Mainly do nowadays cause I don't want to lose out on work.
