When I was a kid and American Girl was my first doll obsession, I always wanted American Boys too, but I was definitely hoping they’d be of Stirling or Two Hawks.

I agree with a lot of this. I really don't like the down-ward facing eyes, but you do have a lot more doll options if you don't mind them. I agree that Makena looks like a baby doll. The Costco 123 looks so much better. I don't have any of the newer molds, Corinne, Claudie or Makena, but I do think that Corinne and Claudie are both very pretty. We definitely do need more Addy molds. Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I should've clarified that I don't like them looking down either, I prefer them to look straight at you, but I don't mind the white backing. It's a lot more white than the older eyes, but that's what I don't mind. I think the costco 123 was always cute! I didn't even realize they changed the mold a little. I think Corinne and Claudie are good new face molds. I own Corinne and her face is gorgeous, I just don't like how it's difficult to dress her with that teal hair. I think it would've been better if it was removable like Isabels!

@@americangirlbliss I believe you did specify that you don't like the down-ward facing eyes. I haven't seen any "bad eyes" that aren't down-ward facing, but you must have since you're ok with them. Yep, the Makena mold definitely has different eyes now and the whites don't show under the iris anymore, which is great. I think a lot of people were upset that AG came out with the Truly Me with the Corinne mold so soon after she was released and they could have bought her mold without the colored hair.

@@bethbacarella Yes, I agree! I have #39, #67, and Tenney Grant all with the 2017 style white backings, but looking straight at you. They were really hard to find, but I'm really happy with them! I'm thinking of getting the new 123. I just noticed the change RIGHT after posting this video, I might actually like the mold now, I think they fixed it! I just have a bad feeling about it because I didn't like Makenna's version of it. But I very well may get 123!

@@americangirlbliss That is very interesting that you have all of those dolls with forward-looking eyes. I think they definitely fixed Makena's mold with the new 123. I'll be interested to see if you end up adding her to your collection. :) I can't decide if I want to add Corinne or Claudie or 123. I'm really happy with the 8 I have right now. I also don't have Classic, Kaya or #4, so I don't feel like I need to add anymore since I'm not just missing 1 or 2.

@@bethbacarella Oooh, those are all such hard choices! I think Claudie would be my pick between those three, I just think her mold and her eyes are so beautiful! Her hair is also really fun and easy to take care of. Although Corinne's mold looks really cute, I find it hard to dress mine in most outfits, I might end up re - wigging her someday with just black. I really wish the teal was removable like Isabelle Palmers. And 123 is also really pretty! I just got 67 instead because she has the same hair and she has the Sonali mold which I really love :)

It was interesting to hear all of your opinions. I agree that Tenny is a beautiful doll and I would totally get her if a nice one came up. I love her little side curl and music theme. I think Logan looks good with the Kaya mold but agree that they could have done something different for the boy dolls and let Kaya’s mold stay special to her. I love Evette in the World by us collection and would have no problem not touching her hair as I have other dolls for hair play. Lila would be a good option as she resembles Evette but I love Evette’s grey eyes more. I am not a fan of McKenna’s face mold either but I am smitten with Claudie’s. ❤

Thanks so much! I LOVE Claudie, and she's one of my favorite dolls. I do like her facemold, it's really pretty, it just isn't my favorite compared to the others.

I will say, I don’t agree with all of your opinions (and that’s okay) but I definitely think we should have more dolls with glasses. I have glasses, 2/3 of my siblings have them and it’s really common. I don’t really understand why they don’t add it to more dolls other than Molly 🤷‍♀️

@@americangirlbliss I think it was mostly just the WBU. I agree with you on Makennas mold but idk, I think it’s just a cool line. Although, I am probably bias towards them because that was the first line that ever came out when I stated collecting.

@@ouramericangirl Oh yeah, I figured because you have Maritza! They're an okay line, just not my personal favorite, but it's great that you like it! Really I think Maritza and Evette are gorgeous dolls, it's just that in the first few years of WBU, Maritza's legs got stained by her pants, and Evette's hair is sooo hard to take care of!

Without Pleasant Company there would be no American Girl dolls. The Pleasant Company era was a beautiful one for me. I used to have a PC Addy in 1994, but she was damaged by an adult in 2002. I replaced her with a Beforever Addy in 2015. I purchased glasses for my Addy. I buy historical clothing for her from Ebay, Etsy and Amazon. I still have the Pleasant Company clothing from the 90s and some Beforever outfits.

I definitely agree with the clothing I don't like the clothes at all I know my style leans more towards punk / goth but I still don't think kids even kids that don't dress punk / goth would even where those type of clothes

I agree with many of your opinions, Sophia. We ABSOLUTELY need more Addy mold dolls! I have no interest in the AG boy dolls, and yes, Tenney is a beautiful doll who does NOT deserve the "hate" she receives (I love my Tenney). I'm not a fan of the virtue signaling from the WBU line, but I do love the Evette doll herself, and I appreciate that she enjoys thrift store shopping, vintage fashion, and being a good stewart of the earth's resources. (As an adult collector, her hair is no problem for me.) I do have Maritza, she never wears her boring meet outfit though. Makena has never appealed to me, but I love Claudie, who seems to have a modified version of her face sculpt. Thanks for sharing your "unpopular " opinions 🙂

I love Tenney, but I understand the controversy around her and the racism still deeply embedded in our society. The reason she isn't liked is just because of those. I feel like Tenney gets a lot of hate, but it's not really her fault. Same thing goes for the other blonde dolls. It's not that any of the blonde dolls are bad, its just that there are SO MANY of them. This is based in racism. I don't hate Courtney, Kira, or the 90's twins, but it was annoying that they put out even more white blonde dolls when the world (and America) is full of all kinds of different looking people. I also hate that they made all of the boy dolls with closed mouths. I mean, why? Making all the boy dolls that way is an insult to Kaya. I do like Bryant, though. He's adorable. I also feel like there should be more boy dolls. Even if they were just for girls. I mean, I wish there was a Davy doll to go along with Maryellen. What I love about Kirsten is that they used the original blonde AG doll to touch on the concept of immigration.
