The "liner chinstrap" on the M1 was typically used to secure the liner to the shell. Pull it over the front brim and you're good.

VeeEss well yea but no cause the liner chinstrap was well by its name its another chinstrap to secure the helmet to the head the soldier's decided to put it on the front of the helmet to like you said secure the liner to the shell because when the soldiers put the helmet on the shell would move and sometimes get off so they used the liner chinstrap to secure the liner with the shell

Your Stahlhelm is an M35. I have seen some people say in the comments that it's an M40 but that's completely wrong. The M40 and M42 had stamped air vents while the M35 didn't. Your's doesn't have stamped air vents which makes yours an M35. (M35 and M40 had the rolled edge, btw. Saw some people mess that up in the comments. The M42 had the unrolled edge)

@M U F F the Tf2 sniper boy It has rolled edges look closely at the video. At some points the edge has rusted off but it very clearly has the rolled edge and has the welded vent holes so it's most certainly an M35.

@anthonyhayes1267
@anthonyhayes1267 4 жыл бұрын
I've often seen the m1 worn with the liner adjusted incorrectly. So an important bit to remember is that the side should cut across the middle of your ear and the back ought to cover to the bottom of your skull. Shrapnel going through the back of your skull will almost certainly be fatal and they considered this when designing the m1.

About the M1918 Swiss helmet, aparently from ballistic tests and shrapnel tests the helmet performs very poorly. Typically I'd say that almost every helmet can stop a 9mm to a .45, however the Swiss M1918 and M1970 (I believe that's the other one) couldn't stop a .45. Shame really, it's a cool helmet but I wouldn't take any chances with it. At least the Swiss weregood at making other things.

Maybe, if you want a plain one, the surplus and outdoors website has them for £7.99 and if youre close to tunbridge wells, kitmonster has them pre-scrimmed in their shop but not on their website, my one for the mk6 was £12 but i dont know how much the mk7 ones are
