Honestly, look into getting a used Surefire. All of their lights are built like tanks and you can find gently used - moderately used ones for half of their retail. The 6PX and G2X lights are pretty easy to find and come in some nice output options. The Fury series is also great. I personally own the G2X Pro and 6PX Tac and both have taken falls over 15 ft and survived. If you're looking for rechargable solutions, check out the Olight M2R. Solid 1500 lumen variable output light that recharges (it also has a magnetic tailcap).

Try riding your leg holster a little higher. It will help when running. The higher it is the less the weapon will flop around when running.
@Jacob-ri1tq5 жыл бұрын
Travis Martin I use a lower ride shank from safari land and I run it with the QLS system. I thread a T Rex arms thigh strap in between the QLS system and it keeps the gun from flopping up if I mess up my draw. Doesn’t move at all during foot pursuits. I tried the drop leg from safari land but it was uncomfortable in my patrol car.

By now, the best police gear set up video. I`d rather wear my radio on the left side, but that`s a thing of choice and preferences. You have very reasonable choices of pouches and other stuff. No kid with BB guns, 40 mag pouches on front or 8 pistol mag pouches and their "Oppinions" xD. No unnecessary junk or weight. Finally some useful police tactical vest set up and advices. I`m looking forward for your next video. Stay safe, Bro.

Just so you know, for the plate carrier, they sell buckles for the shoulder straps (there's still velcro too). what i do is instead of sliding over my head and fixing the waist after. I only undo one side. It's a lot quicker to put on. Just a note because you said you hate having to adjust the waist belt.

Keep one side panel attached, so you only have to worry about strapping one. That's what I do with my vest to always have it in the same spot. I agree with the other comments about the holster being higher.

Thanks for the input man, I used to do this with my old vest so I’ll start doing it with this one. Thanks man!

If you don’t like having to secure the straps on your vest every single time look into Blaze Defense Systems. They offer retrofit kits to add quick release buckles to the cummerbund. This way your best fits the same way every single time in seconds.
@jeremiahmartinez52275 жыл бұрын
I stumbled across this video by accident but it is pretty helpful. I myself am a security guard, we wear vests very similar to yours but what sucks is ours velcro in the back instead of the front. For bigger guys like me it's kind of a pain in the ass. Lol. Our departments road officers wear the dress shirt looking vests, not sure what they are called, and of course the military police wears the same vests as us.
@MrGatorrHD5 жыл бұрын
your vest is sitting a little low. The little dip in the middle should be at about your collar bone. I'd recommend adjusting the straps on the shoulder a bit. Nice video man keep it up
@darinization5 жыл бұрын
I agree vest is too low. Vests protect the heart and lungs not necessarily the abdomen.
@OMACMedicFiveZero5 жыл бұрын
I have the EMS version with no molle and it works ok. I like the front closure velcro on this one, ours closes more on the sides. My SRT entry vest is a pain to put on alone. Luckily we have just received our new ones and they look a lot like this but with the iiia arm/shoulder armor. Look up the blaze defense system QD attachment. Instead of having to velcro the front flap every time it uses plastic cobra buckles. I have them on my personal plate carrier and have ordered another set for my entry vest. Saves time and once you adjust it its the same every time. Not sure what your dept SOP allows but nobody has noticed until I’ve mentioned it and the brass said its not a big deal!

As a couple guys mentioned, you should consider wearing the front of your vest higher. Pretty much needs to meet the top of your sternum. Protects your vitals better. And try removing the top strap of your thigh rig and shorten the drop length. Typically, you just want it to clear your vest. No lower. You could also look at the low ride belt attachment from Safariland and not mess with the straps at all. Its cheap enough to try. Not criticizing, just giving some input that was given to me. Stay safe!

So I work in the East Coast of the US. I never understand why departments in New Jersey wear those pants with the yellow stripe down the seam. Also the light blue shirts. Really old school. Yet you can wear whatever outer carrier. I like your TQ pouch, where did you get it. I also use the drop leg but only one strap. Anyway I just subscribed because your vid is one of the few practical duty belt/vest set ups. I have 29 years of wearing that belt and I have just moved to an High Speed Gear duty belt because it has a gel part on the inside. It makes it super nice to wear. I also like the fact you are helping people to decide if they want a career in LE and helping them with the good and bad parts of the process. How can I get a hoodie that you are selling?

Hey man just stumbled on your channel and I really enjoy your content, both LEO-related and gaming related. I think that more videos on your experience as a police officer would be great. Though you mentioned this before, but a video on being a police officer as a black man, but overall as a person of color would help a lot of minorities interested in law enforcement. Your thoughts on police culture, maybe eye-opening events you had while working, how it feels to patrol in the neighborhood you grew up in, and any goals you have in Law enforcement (promotions, specialized positions,etc.) Thanks man, keep it up and stay safe.

Vest isnt as improtant as the plates/armor you have. If you’re looking for something for patrol have a look at RMA. They have ceramic lvl 4 plates at very good prices, i have a pair and have knocked them around and they show no signs of wear. AR500 has good stuff but make sure you get the extra coatings or you’ll feel the burn when the round fragments and spalls into your neck and legs.
