Hi Congrats. You've got to tell me if you think it makes you more efficient.

I made the same purchase and completely agree! Aeroad is such a fast bike. I upgraded from a Specialized Allez Elite, which was my first road bike.

The Selle Italia saddle has been replaced. I tried to break it in but, it broke me. It has been replaced by a Fizik Saddle. Saddles are a very personal choice, and you may find the Selle Italia to your liking. I also replaced the continental tires with Vitoria Rubino PRO.

I got the same exact color bike in size medium back in May. Upgraded from a 2011 Cannondale SuperSix. The Canyon Aeroad has been an awesome bike, and I absolutely love it! The DT Swiss wheels are nice but just a bit too deep for me. I do a lot of climbing. Swapped them for a set of Winspace Hyper 45 wheels, and are tubeless ready as well. Love the Sram AXS groupset. Shifting is smooth and a huge improvement over the first gen WiFli etap. However, don't trust the app to let you know when the shifter batteries are about to die. My shifters started to intermittently stop working then work during rides. Also had delayed shifts. A buddy said my shifter batteries are dying. I checked the app and it said they were still good. Changed the batteries and shift issues are now gone. As a backup I purchased a pair of Sram AXS wireless blips. They have non-changeable batteries that last up to six years. Mounted them under the flat part of the handle bars so I can shift when not on the hoods and resting my hand on top of bar.

I had an odd problem. Dropped the chain twice on one day. Second time it jammed and I had to walk 3 miles to home. CANYON puts a small aluminum plate on the drive side chain stay. I beleive the glue melted and it got caught up in the chain.The finish on the chain stay has been marred. Very upset.
@mbraylarak Жыл бұрын
@@markzebr6463 Same happened to me, and happens to most bike brands. Need to install a chain drop guard. And yes, Canyon could have provided a little better frame guard plate. At least the marring is behind the chainrings where its not noticeable. Happened to both my Cannondale and Felt.

Just received mine yesterday, same discount/deal from Canyon. I got a size Large in Dark Blue. I do criterium racing and gran fondos, coming from an Ultimate CF SL to this frame; very excited to try it out once the pedals arrive! Out of curiosity, did you have to micro adjust the front or rear derailleur? And did you degrease or add your own lubricant to the factory chain grease? PS. The Salsa colour looks great, congrats again. Hard to beat the value that Canyon sells these days.
@markzebr6463 Жыл бұрын
Congrats on your purchase. I think your going to love it and got the better color in my opinion. In response to your question. neither. Did, just yesterday i did lube the chain. Rode this morning with friend of mine of whom has the factory continentals, what a pain in the ass.
@baddcyclist6401 Жыл бұрын
Nice review. I love mine too! Are you considering going Tubeless? Also did you keep a 25 front and 28 rear with the Vitoria?
@markzebr6463 Жыл бұрын
@baddcyclist6401 Yes, i hept with the 25 and the 28. Had 3 flats in two weeks...Hit a rock that put a hole in my front tire. To answer your question... Yes. wish I'd kept the Continentals now....replaced the saddle with a Fizik 3d printed saddle. Should have that by Monday. Currently have a Fizik Arione ( 10 years old ) that was on my TT bike. I tried to break in the Selle Italia. However, it broke 💔 me instead. Win 🏆 some, lose some.

Do you live in a hilly area? Both bikes are in the small chain ring, which I find interesting.

YES. We have a number of very steep shirt hills. Mountains are only 45 minutes away as well. Usually keep the bikes in the small ring when transporting

No need to justify new purchase, canyon looks amazing next to little outdated looking pinarello.

Its more than that. DI and disc brakes are all new to me. The bike along with all of the upgrades and new technology are game changers. Im more efficient and slightly faster. Yet, I know many people that see no need to change....if you are strong cyclist...there is.

Nice! Did you get a size small is that why they have different rim depths?
@markzebr6463 Жыл бұрын
No. the rim depths will be the same regardless of size. has to do with aero design, tire width and comfort. One of my friends however got Zipp 404's with his bike ( same frame and group set ) of which are 58 both front and rear. He does however have 28m on the rear and 25m on the front. Does that answer your question?
