It sounds amazing!! I really want to study there. Thank you for the video :) Do you know if students work while studying? because i think there is no time to work but, it is necessary for some people i guess and it must be hard :s also, what kind of materials did you need?

Most students don’t work, but it could be possible near the first half of the year to do part time work! As for materials, they provide you with everything you need :)

I was thinking about going to animation school but I don't think I'd be cut out for school because I have ADHD. I have such a hard time concentrating. I don't think I'd be able to like take that many classes all at the same time. It would just be too overwhelming for me. I went to college before for another major and doing like four to five classes was just way too much. But I am getting medication for the ADHD. So maybe that will help me concentrate in like balance me out. Because my doctor said ADHD medication is really helpful and it makes a lot of the things easier. But we'll see how I feel once I start taking my meds

Hi, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I have a question. Why didn’t you choose the concept art animation at the VFS? What are the differences between classical animation and concept art?
@gwynnemcmaster4237
@gwynnemcmaster4237 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I chose classical animation because you have the option of creating your very own short animated film at that you premiere at your grad and can later submit to festivals. In classical animation, you are working on your film for half the year. For concept art, there is a final project but it is not a short film. For concept art, you focus heavily on visual development (character design, background design, props, etc.) for a visual story. You learn this in classical animation too but animating is the sole focus.

Hi i took both! In my opinion. Concept art is much easier as the work load is mainly rendering a few pieces a week. While animating is… A LOT MORE WORK, due to its nature. The main focus is also different if that makes sense? I learned a lot more of “how to draw” and 3d modeling in concept art. But more of how things move in animation, and cinematography. ALSO u get to learn a little bit of concept art in animation. Bcz u get to design stuff for ur film. I liked both programs a lot, but animation is way more intense and requires u to stay and work a lot more than concept does. HOWEVER I think its definitely better for job hunting. (Also also. Concept is a much younger program. So its course evolves with time. They got a lot of part time teachers and like the video says they change the curriculum a lot. Like right now instead of small rooms im in a huge studio room with 2 other classes)

Thank you soo much for the insight. This is an option I am considering and I was curious about the program. Good video too. A Question.....what was the age demographic of your classes and around campus? Was there a mix of young and older matured ]students, or was everyone like fresh out of high school? Just curious thanks.

Hi!!! I took two courses (animation and concept art) it CAN be diverse but i find it to be usually ppl around their 20s. I was the only 18 year old (oldest in my class was 40) in my class but my friends have like 3 in their class.

Hi, I really liked your video. actually I'm not animator but my girlfriend is. I'm curious about how would you describe the 2d animation job market in vancouver? great work and thanks.

There are a lot of 2D animation opportunities in Vancouver! A lot of animation studios tend to hire near August/September the most. It is tough though… and connections are really important- just as important as your animation skills based off of my experience.

Not all program will give option to work If you are International student so you need to find school with dll number and Work permit (pwg -yes),if you look to canada migration site those with work permit will dll number and have pwg-yes.Note vancouver is not counted as post secondary education so it does not have even dll number
