Oh a favourite here!😁 The first Fats tune that I'd ever heard. James P. Johnson, father of stride piano, was Fats' teacher. Though I believe this version is from 1935, not '48.💖

@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Ahhh, I see. I know it isn't AS creditable but I have two CDs, "Hits of '34 and '35" and two of Fats' songs are on it, "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter" and, "My Very Good Friend The Milkman". But hearing those recordings, I'm for sure that this one, which is the same version as on my disc, is from '35.😉

@@OLD_SOUL1900 ………… I think you’re right and this is a re-issue in ‘48 🙂

@@OLD_SOUL1900 …….. I just checked online and yes it was 1935 on Victor. Then re-issued on HMV in UK in 1948. The B side is Shortnin’ Bread….. originally 1941 on Victor but re-issued 1948 on HMV

@@radiogramgramophonetoons5802 Nice! I'm glad I didn't give you false information and it's good for my memory records too!😆 But we two are correct.💖
