Hi! Newish subscriber here - absolutely love your style and vintage approach to fashion! Id never heard of Dooney and Bourke as a brit but you really put me onto them. Have spent the last couple weeks scouring Vinted (UK’s poshmark equivalent) and bought a two vintage bags and a purse for dirt cheap. Most expensive one i got was £7!! I think i’m getting sweet deals because the brand is relatively unknown in the uk 🥰

I’m from the usa but when i visited london almost 10 years ago i bought two amazing dooneys in vintage shops there! I couldnt believe how many they had and how inexpensive they were! I guess people don’t know the brand as well there.

The Station bag was released prior to the Willis style. I purchased my Station bag at a Coach store in NYC, 1987. Coach used to offer replacement straps, in various sizes, and I purchased a longer strap for my bag. Still using it!

Yes, the *esluxy* has beautiful colors, it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag for the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

When I was 12 my mom took me to the LV on Bloor Street in Toronto. I had my fake LV from *hotdups* on my arm and thought I was cute. The sweet sales ladies let me try on a bag and a pair of heels knowing we were not wealthy and couldn't afford to purchase anything. It as really nice. No one seemed to care I had a fake bag and I felt special. They even gave me a paper shopping bag which I used as a lunch bag for weeks after! :) Who cares if people don't have real ones? I'm 30 now and ironically, although I can afford them I still prefer real people with fake bags than fake people with real bags. Just saying :) (not that everyone who carries a real one is bad or vice versa.) Just means I don't care if people carry fakes.

I bought the Lalage Beaumont Fontyn in medium tan last week at *esluxy* and since receiving it I have been using it and neglecting my designer collection (honeymoon period maybe) , but I was really impressed with the quality and timing, right down to how they used it. Will wear it. I wish they would make this bag in a variety of pinks (i.e. sakura pink). There are actually many options to choose from.

This is nothing compared to Shanghai, China. I saw some “super fake” Chanel and Gucci that took my breath away. They looked and felt like the real thing. These bags were never displaced out in the open, but tucked away in a secure place. The sales person would always asked if you wanted to see a higher quality designer *esluxy* than the ones they displaced out in the open. If you said yes, the sales person stepped away and brought you a designer bag that looked authentic.

I LOVE vintage coach. My favorite is a doctor's bag I inherited from my mom. It is missing its strap and I couldn't find a vintage replacement but I got a cotton webbed strap from Madewell that looks like it was meant to be there. I loved this video! I am a dooney girl. Vintage and newer. I have had amazing luck finding vintage ones at second hand shops and online. Over the years i have probably cycled through at least 20. My best find was the Florentine big bag thats like 600 new. But i found it for 60 on posh mark and i have never clicked buy so fast! It was like new condition!

I had a Coach Winnie that I'd thrifted back in the twee heyday. I don't think I actually ever used it. It didn't have the long strap or the hangtag and I was even going to just donate it! But I sold it recently on Vinted. I come across Coach pretty often thrifting, and I see Dooney a lot too, though there are SO MANY Dooney fakes out there.

People who spend big bucks on bags usually don't care about quality. They care about status. If you have $10,000-100,000 to spend on a quality bag, why not get one custom made at *esluxy* ? The Dooney all weather bag is my favorite all time bag. It is so cute! They are dangerously waterproof though. I accidentally drowned my phone in mine once when my water bottle exploded in the bag. I didn't notice until I went to pay for my groceries because it didn't leak a drop.

Nice collection but fyi, the bags from the mid 90’s and earlier have numbers only that doesn’t tell any info on the bag the numbers were there to make it look “official”. So not ALL vintage bagshave the info past the dash.

@@michaeladickson leather conditioner is for like drying and cracking and then fading to like some extent, and staining will put the color pigments back in. Jim’s Juice which you can get on whatnot is an amazing leather conditioner, use it on my vintage and new pieces.
