Loved my trips to China. There is such a huge markup on chairs. Pricing out of China for their premium chairs to US distributors is 6-10% (6,000 to 8,000 CNY) of US MSRP. Current estimates of 150 to 250 CNY per hour are exaggerated a bit, and, the employer deducts housing and food costs from that amount, leaving take home pay at ~10% to 20%, or 5 to 10 CNY per hour. Also no overtime and workers are expected to work a 12 hour shift, sometimes, especially in rural areas, for 8 hours pay. No unemployment benefits. Hours can be cut anytime. Health costs paid separately by the employee

From there it costs 500 usd each Then dealers sell one of them with 2000 usd price tag
@massagechairrelief5 жыл бұрын
Agree, Abbas. However, you have to add on shipping, parts, and customer support warranty of 1-3 years. That ads cost to the chair as well. So, it is not as easy as saying that a $2000 chair has a $1500 profit margin. It is often quite a bit less when you add in all the other costs associated with importing a chair. dr. w.

Came here to see the mechanics of a massage chair, but first learned about a fish lunch, trees, parking spots, a 4,000 year old town, and a factory built in July of 2017. Great video!

Good video. One comment. I hope that you are not so naive to think that the lunch you ate is same as what the workers were served. You were a guest/business partner so looks like they booked a private room and fed you a proper dinner to show hospitality. The workers eat rice, vegetable and meat and that is it. Still pretty good stuff but nothing like what you were served. I used to travel to China all the time (lost count of trips I've made) and often just ate the same food as the workers which I honestly miss. Best Regards.
@massagechairrelief7 жыл бұрын
Good point. I asked about that when I was there. The management told me that the workers ate everything I ate except for the fish, which was a kind gesture for me. The room was a private room off the main cafeteria, where the workers ate. dr. w.

Sir how can I get Franchisee for India
@massagechairrelief3 жыл бұрын
We don't franchise, but if you want to carry a line of chairs in your country, you would need to contact factories yourself. I do not have contact information for many factories, but you can go to Alibaba.com and they will have some reps from Chinese manufacturers who can help you get in contact with the right person. dr. w.

You can always order chairs from Alibaba, coming from hundreds of different factories in China, however you will have to pay for shipping from China as well as have no parts or support available in the US or whatever country in which you reside. You can do it still, but just be careful with that process! dr. w.

Not really IMO. He's a physician not an engineer. And having toured many Chinese factories that ranged from OMG! (bad) safety and quality practices to a few that were quite impressive I must say this is darn nice for a facility focused on hand assembly. But then again they're making $3000 chairs so adequate lighting and reasonable pace of production yields a better product. I would add they were very open letting him wander around taking full video.
@chrisedwards38666 жыл бұрын
I'm impressed as well. But it's clear that they have the unused workbays and space on the assembly line for a reason. If demand jumps, they can probably produce the chairs at a much faster rate if demand increases, and they hire more workers. And because they have planned the extra space for it, they can do that without significant quality problems, unless they try to push production numbers way too high.
