My visit to Blackbushe Air Day Great airport for planespotters

Some highlights ! Traffic at this small airport was busy as it would be at London Heathrow . Lot's of movements . Scillonia Airways1940's de Haviland Dragon Rapide biplane were offering pleasure flights.
The event originally took place in 2012 at Goodwood racing circuit to raise money for Blackbushe Airport-based Aerobility, a charity that grants the disabled, terminally ill and injured service personnel the chance to discover the excitement and joy derived from flying.

It was a diversionary field for London Airport (Heathrow), just as was Bovingdon, whenever LAP was fogbound. I remember Eagle Airways a/c there.

It's a De Havilland DH89 Dragon Rapide. The design dates from the mid 1930s but they were produced right through World War 2 as they were used as navigator trainers.
