Fr. Jeremy Ling Hong Zou, 29, Archdiocese of Toronto, grew up in Richmond Hill. He is the second of four siblings, with an older sister, a younger sister, and a younger brother. His home parish is St. Agnes Kouying Tsao Catholic Church in Markham. It was here he first became an altar server and fell in love with the Mass. However, when he entered high school, he began to doubt Catholicism. Nevertheless, he still attended the parish youth group.
In 2011, he returned to Christ when he encountered Jesus' personal love for
him in Confession on Divine Mercy Sunday, and later that same year at a
youth retreat during Eucharistic Adoration. He entered biochemistry at
the University of Toronto in hopes of serving the Lord as a pediatrician.
During this time, the call to the priesthood began. Christ opened his eyes to the beauty of the priesthood over a couple of experiences, and the desire to enter the seminary gently grew over the years in prayer. He discerned into St. Augustine's Seminary in 2017, and looks forward to serving the Lord in the Archdiocese of Toronto.
