I have a Road Glide Ultra and I love it. I don’t ride it nearly as often as I like; bike gangs, heat and constant concern that it will just stop moving. In response to my concerns I looked at this. I just picked up this 18 Voyager and the Harley is up for sale. My only regret is that I bought the Harley before seeing this . This bike is a beast and it has all the dependability that Metrics have. I’m certain that I will get at least 150k+ miles with routine maintenance. I have had 2 metrics in the past and never had any issues what so ever. CONGRATS! You’re going to love it.

I have owned numerous Kawasaki motorcycles over the last 45 years. In fact, Kawasaki is pretty much all I've owned, with just a few from Honda & Suzuki. My current primary commuter bike is a Vulcan 900 Classic. But I'm wanting to spend more time on long trips, and the more I look & research, I have to say, I really want a Voyager. That Candy Cardinal Red & Metallic Graystone paint job is really nice. Every video like this one I find is just pushing me closer to buying one. Just have to figure out how long I can hide it from my wife. Great video, thanks for sharing.

@@drayoutdoors8981, that's the toughest part, deciding if I trade in the Classic, or buy the voyager as a second ride. I've been really bad over the years. At one point I had over 30 motorcycles, but I had to sell most of them because it was costing to much to maintain & store them.

Best looking bike I've seen! Don't bother with the naysayers. You out riding carefree, while their still making payments, years after your done. Like you said "It's all about the riding". RIDE ON!!! Everything else is B.S. It kind of reminds me of the single guy, who kept getting flack from his married friends about being single. You need to get a girl and settle down and buy a house with a white picket fence. Guess what? He did get married and now all he hears about from his married friends is about all the complaining about all the problems with being married and owning your home. That white picket fences always needs fixing! It's the "gang mentality". They want you to be just like them even through all their mistakes, which they won't admit to, so you won't get a better deal and you have to suffer with them. Listen to your gut, and you did. Halleluya!!! THANKS AGAIN FOR POSTING YOUR VIDEO. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY "BEAUTIFULL". BEST OF SHOW, FOR SURE.

I have a 2013 with 11k miles, and an 08 Goldwing. Absolutely beautiful paint combo on the Voyagers. I have the Cobra slip-ons, and yes they are loud at highway speeds. The Ivan ECU tune is a must! What a difference. I added a hockey puck to the kickstand base since the bike leans so far over...huge difference. I listen to SIRIUS radio through its radio most of the time; having the rear speakers makes a world of difference. What I don't like is that there aren't a lot of aftermarket add ons...it seems like I am proliferating from other manufacturers to get what I need. As for the liquid cooled engine, it's only the heads so it still runs hot like all of the other v-twins. My wing is truly liquid coed and never runs hot! Turning the page. These bikes have a lot of shortfalls just like every other bike manufactured. Enjoy your ride...it will take you anywhere you need to go! Much respect for the bike intro. Thanks

What a beautiful machine. My 2007 Nomad has just about that identical color scheme. I see a LOT of the Nomad structure in the Voyager. Mine is a 1600cc 5 speed. 86k miles on mine and still running beautifully. The bag support structure on the back, plate/turn signal, and those chrome runners between the fender and the bags are the same on mine. I never changed the exhaust on mine. I was always afraid of making it TOO loud but that V&H exhaust note sounds sweet. I have also never done any changes to my ECU but I have never had smoothness or power issues. When shopping for an upgrade for my last bike I did also look at the Harley option, but it was WAY more expensive. I put 115k miles on my 98 Vulcan A model and figured another Vulcan would do just as well. So far that is turning out to be true. Enjoy!
@drayoutdoors8981
@drayoutdoors8981 3 жыл бұрын
Great post. I don’t have a single regret on owning this bike. It’s more than met my expectations. The V&H slip-ons do make the bike sound “meaner” but not overbearing. I did notice when i wear a full helmet it seems to amplify the sound in the helmet. Didn’t care for that. I usually wear a half helmet and the sound, to me, is perfect. I hear the music great and it seems like a perfect mix. Hoping to get many miles on this bike. Got it to ride not sit in the garage and be pampered. At this price, after a 100,000 miles or so I can afford another one then! Even at 10,000 miles a year (which is a lot for most people) that’s 9 or 10 years down the road. Worth every bit of that $14,000 price tag. Approximately $1,400 per year. I can do that!

That's a very nice bike. Don't worry about what others think of your bike. I just bought a 2017 Voyager 3 months ago. I really wanted a bike with color (red or blue) but I came across a sweet deal on the black & gray model. It has a green pinstripe that really "pops." This bike already had the Cobra Tri-Flows on it as well as Kuryakyn grips with low miles and priced right. I was looking at the Kawasaki's, not really wanting to join the Harley "club" when a nice looking 2014 Electra glide caught my attention at a dealership. I decided to take it for a spin. To make a long story short, that bike never would start. It was eating batteries and after coming back another day to find it was still acting up I said "that's it, no Harley." I almost got bit by the Harley bug and I'm glad it showed its unreliable traits sooner rather than later. So, I CHOSE to buy a Kawasaki Voyager for their reliability and better pricing. ( not paying for all the weekend parties at the HD Dealership.) After investing in the Ivan's ECU flash I am very happy with my road beast! Ride safe and often.

I've had 3 Harley touring bikes and they are amazing, but my favorite touring bike is the Yamaha Royal Star Venture (Gen 2). I'm riding a Harley Heritage Softail now. A bike I've had 16 years and put 87,000 trouble free miles on it. I love Harleys! I want to get another touring bike for my wife and I. The Kawasaki is priced right and I've read great things about them. If I can't find a nice low mileage used Gen 2 Venture, I'll go with the Kawi.

Yes you can add the mods but it ought not to be necessary and it wouldn't be expensive to add. I notice the extra fan behind the seat to draw the heat from the exhaust away from the rider's legs. Being a FORMER HD rider, who cares if other people have an issue with you bike? They are not paying for it, they are not paying for the gas, for the maintenance, for repairs, for insurance, etc, etc, and etc. When I sold my Harley (an AMF period piece of crap that kept breaking down and leaving me stranded out in the middle of nowhere, before cellphones) I had friends that tried to give me a hard time. I told them that if they were willing to buy me a Harley, I would be glad to ride it. I always say that my butt cannot ready anyway, so what does it matter what the sticker on the gas tank says! Nice looking bike, love that color scheme. I'm thinking about buying another Kawi, I have one now, but they are blue and white. The current color is OK, but I like the color on yours a lot more. I actually thought at one time of getting a smaller bike for in town riding but actually there’s no need. I ride this bike everywhere. And, yes, it rides amazing. Very comfortable. Cruises the highways and interstates like a dream. No regrets at all. The only suggestion is to have the emissions control unit redone if it hasn’t been already. The factory setting is no good. Not bad at all. I know some people have been concerned about it but it’s not too loud at all. I love the fact that I can punch it a bit and get the nice rumble I like but when I back down to cruising speed it’s right in that zone where I can still listen to my music with no issues and it doesn’t get overbearing after a while.
