I would definetly tape the roof after you marked the lines before you start cutting. Ill tape it say 10 mm out from the mark this would allow you to follow the line and create edge when you do paint it after. This will save your van paint from all the metal shards and sparks when you cut. Cheers

The other option for the sealant job is to buy some of those plastic bead forming tools. I love them. Used to have nightmares doing shower re- seals until I got mine. I like your attention to detail such as painting the bare metal. Such a pity about the loom not being above the brace at the front but you found a neat way of getting around that problem. I agree about the lower height looking better but as you say it’s not as useable as a bed space. The way pop tops seal around the bottom of the canvas puts me off. I have not seen the way any others seal as of yet but having seen your video I will take a look. Great video thanks.

@Benger-hope5 жыл бұрын
@@WiseFabrication It's an absolute joke, why on earth would a van have a pop top if it wasn't a camper van? The insurance on mine was extortionate when I tried to insure it as a car (modified Japanese import minivan), it's currently insured as a camper van in the process of conversion which was less than half the price but I'm gonna have to phone them up and explain that I'll no longer be able to get it re-registered. Hopefully they'll change their classification system after enough people complain but if not I look forward to seeing the range of 'camper van style vinyls' people come up with. Good luck with the rest of the conversion!
@WiseFabrication5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree mate. I may do a video on it to be honest but want to learn more about it first. I think a lot of people will Complain. There must be a loop hole created. I’m searching for it at the moment if I find anything I’ll make another video to tell people
@Benger-hope5 жыл бұрын
Aye the way it's worded makes it seem like there may be wiggle room. I dunno if it was meant to be a clamp down on 'stealth campers' that just went too far but it's definitely thrown a spanner in the works for a lot of people mid way through a conversion
