*2021 UPDATE: The replacement blender jar began leaking shortly after this video was shot. This stainless steel model is clearly a poor design and I am done with Waring. I purchased a used Vitamix from ebay and purchased their NEW Stainless Steel blending container and am very happy with it.*
In this video I do a brief review & demo of my new Waring blender. I also describe my experience with the restaurant supply store when a problem arose with the blender jar. This model has 2HP (1500 watts), metal to metal gear connection, 2 speeds (low & high), a pulse function, 1 year warranty and the stainless steel jar keeps cold beverages cold while blending. I apologize for the length of this video but I wanted to include the warranty issue I had to deal with when the jar began to leak from the poorly applied silicone sealant. While I am happy that Waring Commercial eventually replaced my blender jar, I am also very wary about purchasing anything else from the brand. It was an unnecessary headache. I will also no longer be purchasing my baking supplies from webstaurant after this experience.
My channel contains video reviews of products I own & have purchased with my own money. I am not in any way affiliated with any company that manufactures, sells or represents these products, nor do I sell any products. My intent is to be helpful in sharing my own experience with these products. It also contains DIY projects that are for craft and/or information purposes only and should not be construed as expert or medical advice.

I really appreciate this video and the 2020 update. My Waring 2-speed blender motor finally gave out after 20 +/- years of use. It had the sealed stainless steel container. I loved not having to disassemble to clean after use. However, it did NOT have any silicone seal on it. Using silicone to seal it tells me Waring knows the container has a problem and they took a cheap way out. My search no longer includes Waring. Thanks again.

Yep, Waring was bought out by Cuisinart some years ago so my guess is that's why this is now a problem where it hadn't been before. Thanks for watching and glad my video was helpful. :)

2020 UPDATE: The replacement stainless steel container also leaks and there is no support for it! It's such a shame because the base is so strong and powerful and blends everything very well. Waring seriously needs to go back to the drawing board with the container and redesign the bottom section where the blades are installed. They do not sell any replacement blades or gaskets that fit this model!! Since the container is not part of the warranty and I'm on my own trying to fix it, I'm working on sealing it up with food-grade silicone sealant.

2021 UPDATE: I've tried everything to seal the blender jar to stop the leaking but nothing works. I'm so frustrated with this blender! It makes zero sense to build a strong, powerful blender base that can obliterate anything, then assemble an expensive stainless steel container using glue...WTF?? I'm so done with Waring!

@@helpfulnatural Thank you for sharing. I'm ready to start healthy eating but the one thing that holds me back is finding the right blender. I want a glass jar and I want the jar to separate from blades for thorough cleaning. I had just about settled on Oster Pro 1200 until you mentioned no replacement parts. Have you found another blender?
@helpfulnatural
@helpfulnatural 3 жыл бұрын
@@mirrorimage9224 I actually went back to using a Vitamix because they now make a stainless steel blending jar. The blades are not removeable though. I still have my Oster Pro 1200 which works well, although not as powerful as a Vitamix. High speed blenders will most likely never make a glass jar due to the risk of shattering. At least that's the reason given by the companies I've asked in the past. Instant Pot makes a glass jar blender too however I've never used it so can't say how well it works.

@@helpfulnatural I'm seriously considering the Vitamix you mentioned - Last question: what type of cleaning utensil do you use to clean the steel jar or, maybe better asked, how do you clean the jar when it's time for a thorough scrub beyond the soapy water Clean Setting?

Thanks for the interesting and informative videos. I have the Oster Pro 1200, with a second one on it's way, which was/is on sale. I ordered two genuine Oster replacement blades. So I should be all set. I really like this blender. I was worried about plastics leaching endocrine disruptors. BPA substitutes, according to some sources, can be as bad or worse than BPA. Then I read some answers on Quora. And I agree with those who are saying it's all been sensationalized. But I still prefer glass, especially borosilicate glass. It stays nice-looking much longer. Microscratches inevitably accumulate on plastic pitchers, and before long they look crummy. And they just keep getting crummier looking over time. I love borosilicate glass. Great material. Who wants to drink from scratched-up plastic cups when there are nice-looking, crystal clear wine glasses to drink from? *** Have you checked out Cleanblend and their blenders? If I were out to buy a higher-powered blender, they would be on my shortlist. Very good customer support and track record, great blenders, power, and prices. I might even put up with the Tritan pitchers if no alternatives were available.

Plastic pitchers will also absorb odors from foods, then redistribute them into whatever else you put in the blender. For instance; I had a Vitamix a while back and after blending soup in it that contained onions, garlic and tomatoes, my container was never the same. It didn't matter how well I cleaned, even used bleach but the odors came back. Reason is that all plastics are porous so it's impossible to clean as thoroughly as glass or stainless steel. Plastic also warms up quickly so our smoothies were always lukewarm. Since this video I've gone back to using a Vitamix and purchased their new stainless steel blending container. It's durable, keeps things cold, very easy to clean and looks nice on the base.

The Pro 1200 is a good blender, but for some reason I guess Oster doesn't sell many of them because you're right: Oster never really supported that blender. Since I purchased a Blendtec a year ago, I keep the Oster only as backup blender in case I ever have a problem with the Blendtec and have to send it in for warranty repairs. Since I no longer use the Oster for daily use, I really don't care that they no longer have parts; but if that was the only blender I had, I would really be ticked off if I needed parts.
@helpfulnatural

Yea, that was one of several reasons I bought this Waring model. If you go to the Oster website, nothing they sell, blenders, waffle makers, parts, etc..... nothing has a purchase function; ie: no shopping cart on the product pages. I was convinced that they may have discontinued the 1200 but recently saw new stock of it at Target with all new packaging. I don't know what's going on there but I'm tired of guessing what to do if something goes wrong or I need a new part. I never bought a Blendtec because of the plastic blender container, the reason I got rid of my Vitamix.

Actually, the Pro 1200 is Oster's best selling blender model. Go figure on the terrible customer service regarding it? :-(
@avilachs
@avilachs 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, believe me you have nothing to be concerned about regarding the Blendtec jar. Unlike Oster, Blendtec has an eight-year warranty on everything whereas Oster, for example, only warrants the motor. I personally have no complaints about my Pro 1200, but once I received my Blendtec, I seldom used the Oster, so it will outlive me. :) One thing that did concern me even from the beginning, as you noted, was the fact that you couldn't buy parts for the machine. Many users complained that the little rubber gasket for the blade assembly wore out. In the year that I used my blender practically every day, the gasket never gave me trouble; but I always thought how ridiculous it is to put a 10-year guarantee on the motor; however, if the 98¢ gasket wore out, the blender would be useless. Have a great day. I enjoy your channel. (BTW, I love your cat!)

@@avilachs The reason I got rid of my Vitamix blender was because of the plastic container, not for durability reasons but that it quickly became very scratched and etched and picked up food odors that would not come out no matter how hard I tried. Even bleach water couldn't get rid of them. :-P As for the gaskets in the Oster, I have a few videos showing how I made my own out of a silicone baking sheet. Very easy and they work great! :D The Siamese on my thumbnail is Solomon. I lost him to cancer 4 years ago, he was the love of my life. I keep his pictures with me at all times. :)

I am so sorry to hear about Solomon. In November 2017 I lost two of my cats in one week. Binyamin died at 18 years of age on November 15, and Naomi, who was 19.5 years old died two days later. As you can imagine, I was devastated. For the first time since 1976 I had no cats. In December of 2017, I took in two foster cats with hyperthroidism from The Great Plains SPCA. Shoshana was 13, and Melekh was 15. Shoshana contracted throat cancer seven months later and had to be euthanized. I cried at the vet's office. Melekh is still going strong two years later and will be going in for his normal three-month checkup on December 18. Sometimes losing a pet can be as bad as or worse than losing a parent because as adults we don't sleep with nor spend all our hours at home with our folks, but we do with our pets.

LOL! Romeo is a rescue dog and was very quiet and reserved when we first adopted him 2 years ago this month. One day when I was making our morning smoothies, he decided to chime in! Dogs are wonderful companions! :-) Thank you for the kind words. My husband & I often sing along with Romeo but our cats aren't too thrilled with all the howling! Lol! @@chasemurray2921 Thank you so much...again! :) Romeo was a project when we first got him. He had been abandoned at least twice before we found him and suffered from separation anxiety and seizures. Since I'm home most of the time, I was able to work with him and ease his anxiety to where he no longer stresses out when we leave the house. And he has never had a single seizure since coming home with us...not one. He was on some awful drugs to control them but they altered his personality and would start damaging his organs had we left him on them. He is a very happy dog now! :D I currently have 2 cats, we had 3 but lost one just 3 weeks ago to liver cancer. :( He was my snuggle bug and begged to be picked up constantly. I miss him terribly every day. My oldest cat is a female Burmese mix named Taj. She is all black and will turn 18 years old next month. She is a pistol and has all the boys in the house under her tiny thumb! Our other cat is a rescued Silver Persian named Attila, whose previous owner bought him as a tiny kitten and had all four of his paws declawed. At the tender age of 1 year he was found wandering the streets in the cold, wet November weather. He is quite the character too. He is 8 years old currently. I may show them in a future video. :)

I loved seeing your dog, Romeo howling from a safe distance. He must have enjoyed that because he stayed untill the ending! Thanks for the Warning on Waring Warranties NOT covering any Blending Jar problems! Have you had any Good thoughts on Blendtec Blenders for the rest of us? We have a Factory Outlet mall near me with a Kitchen Store that stocks Refurbished VitaMix & Blendtec models. Maybe that's a lower cost Option for others to look for near them. My Mom had an old VitaMix with a Stainless Steel Jar. Lastly, have you ever considered the Oster Versa reversing blade blenders with built-in Auto program Buttons?

Romeo is quite a character! I have never owned or used a Blendtec so can't comment on them. I did however have 2 Vitamix blenders. I sold mine right after I bought the Oster Pro 1200. I disliked the plastic blending jar. It picked up odors very quickly from everything I blended and plastic has pores so no matter how I cleaned it, the odors always came back. If you're looking for a high powered blender and don't care about what material the jar is made from, a refurb is a good place to start. I still have my very old stainless steel Vitamix blender that I no longer use. It still works just fine but it doesn't get our smoothies smooth enough. Lots of chunks and seeds. I'd love to sell it but haven't found any takers. I didn't get the Oster Versa since it is very similar to the Vitamix and I already had the Pro 1200 which works very well. Oster stopped supporting it with replacement parts which is the reason I now have the Waring model in the video. Thanks for watching! :)

Well, you know of course that almond milk is more corrosive than battery acid. (I'm kidding of course...) I am also having issues with Waring right now. Let's just say they have a vivid imagination when it comes to excuses about their machines. The have a magic food grade bearing lube blatantly leaking out of their blenders, and trying to say "oh, that's totally normal".

Exactly! I got so fed up with this blender that I went back to using a Vitamix. They now have a stainless steel blending container that works beautifully. It's expensive at $199. but it also has a 3 year warranty which is a full year longer than the entire Waring blender (which does not include the container). Since I sold my original Vitamix 6+ years ago, I went to ebay and bought just the base for $75 bucks. I'm now in blender heaven for less than I paid for this Waring headache monstrosity. Thanks for watching! :)
