Well he's obviously not being forthcoming about something, considering both are models that are discontinued. So literally impossible to buy them brand new at retail within the last 6 months. Giving him the benefit of the doubt that these aren't reps, he obviously purchased them grey market and/or second hand. So dude is loaded. Same thing with the Batgirl, fwiw. Market is loosening up but not to the extent someone can just walk in and get those, lol. Unless he has tons of spend history on jewelry or something.

I mean the 5711 has been discontinued for a few years now and Patek ADs and Boutiques have a long list of VIP clients who'd purchase in a blink of an eye once offered. Similar story with the AP, even when they discontinued the 15500, it's hard to believe they still have one readily avalable for purchase. The don't give em out to newbies just like that. GMT Batman is possible for a newbie but even then it's still not exactly the easiest Rolex to get without a sizeable spend history. Something bout these stories sound really off imo but happy to be proven wrong.

Dude, the 15500 has been discontinued in favor of the 15510 (no AP logo on dial), and the 5711 was discontinued way back in 2021. So why are you telling people you picked these up within the last year, unless you purchased them grey market or secondhand? Nothing wrong with that of course, but you should be more forthcoming because a lot of people think you bought these brand new.

@@CWPLife Ok, so you got the Patek as a preowned watch. Fair enough. But your AP story doesn't make sense. They are both "ST". If you mean they sold you the 15500 because they were changing over to the 15510, that still doesn't make sense as this happened a couple of years ago. It would be highly unlikely AP would just have the old 15500 lying around unsold. I dare say impossible. So that part of the story is still a bit strange. Again, I know a lot of collectors, been part of the watch community a long time. I have never heard of a person in the last few years just walking in and buying a brand new APRO at retail. And I have absolutely never heard of someone buying a discontinued model several years after it was discontinued.

i'm not currently working right now, but do have some small businesses. the most important thing is to invest early even if it's $20-$100 a month and make quality decisions. once your money becomes larger it will grow compounding interest.

You've been a collector for JUST 1 year and suddenly bought every single hype watch from every top manufacturer AND somehow got them all close to retail price. That's statistically improbable. Some were purchased on the grey market, because the ones I wanted were discontinued like the Milgauss, but most were purchased at the ADs at retail. A lot of people think they understand the “game” but they aren’t actually on any lists and or they don’t actually have a relationship with the ADs. was going to make a video on it. be likeable, show up at multiple ADs, and be a serious buyer. you'd be surprised how many times people put themselves on the list and never show back up to the store. also people put themselves on the list and when they get called they say something like "let me think about it". when your AD calls you give them your CC information over the phone and purchase the watch. Also if you are showing up to your AD frequently they know you and know you're interested. If you put yourself on a list and never show back up they are never going to call you.

Very interesting, that you've only been collecting for just a year and got the Patek 5711 and AP 15500 from ADs. Not sure how that can happen as Patek 5711 was discontinued in Jan 2021 and AP 15500 was discontinued in Jan 2022. Also the likelihood of purchasing a 5711 without extensive 6 figure Patek purchase history is zero. For AP "maybe" you can get black, grey, or white dial RO SS as first AP, but getting blue dial without Code and/or ROO purchase history is zero AD and AP Boutique do not give calls for these watches just cause you're nice guy with smile So either they are real 5711 and 15500 and they were purchased on the grey market OR they are replicas

don't know why i'm entertaining this comment, but here goes. I bought the Patek from Certified Pre Owned, but for way less than market value directly from Patek AD. Same for AP. I purchased the AP though directly as they were changing to the ST they sold me this one at Retail pricing. For the second part, you 100% do not have to spend anything with the ADs for Rolex or any other brand to get calls for pieces at retail. I'm going to make a video about it, but there is a HUGE perception that you have to spend to get the chance to purchase and have spend history, but it is simply not true. I have never spent anything prior from the ADs before getting a chance to purchase the watches. Only one AD have I purchased more than 1 watch from and they were both Rolex. Still tried to answer your comment as a nice guy with a smile :)
