Pricing and what you pay your two different things obviously and I think you'll get a discount on a Nissan at least you used to

Despite all the cons, I do still think the Altima is one of the better looking sedans in the segment.

Also better ergonomics than the Koreans and Subaru

In the top trim yes, and from the front, it looks cheap from the back, the Mazda, the fusion, and the new Camry and new Accord are better looking in my opinion. I know they don't make the 6 or the fusion anymore. They needed to add a hybrid powertrain, they needed to add a panoramic sunroof, and some LED tail lights LOL
@dnice36223 күн бұрын
@ eh- wrong. New Camry is not good looking at all, from any point of view. New accord in all black is nice. But in those sv trim around this price I have to give it to the Altima
@MugatuJag22 күн бұрын
@dnice362 styling is subjective of course The XLE and xse look really good, but the fact that I can't tell a Centro from a Altima from afar or when you get up close to an extent is disturbing. The rear end is particularly Bland, and I sound like a broken record but the taillights, Nissan seems to be obsessed with LED lighting signatures on all of their cars but why couldn't they just put some decent looking LED tail lights instead they are incandescent and it makes no sense when a 2009 Altina I had LEDs it's just such a cheap admission and it just kind of goes to show how much they really care about the car

Thanks for this video with your honest opinion and objective comparison with competing vehicles. That's one of my favorite things about your channel.

I think if they put the 9 speed (if possible) then this would be a solid car throughout

Last thing I’m going to say about the Altima - back in 2009 I bought a 2007 for about $16k. Base model, 2.5s. If you look online today in 2025, a 2.5s goes for about $17k with under 20k miles on them. Adjusting for inflation it’s the equivalent of about $12k in ‘09. That is a good deal.

I’m 62 and I rent a lot of cars. The best car I ever drove was a 2024 Altima SR.

I was listening to this on my car Bluetooth. The turn signal in that Altima is super loud. I kept thinking I left mine on and my car

I always liked it, but the fact that they could not even put LED tail lights on the Altima in 2019, let alone the refresh when Altimas had LED tail lights 15 years ago, and a Sentra had them in the last generation is just absolutely baffling, and Unforgivable

Hey Matt, thanks for this review, I know I am in the minority, but the more all wheel drive sedans the better, I live in Northeast PA, weather is so unpredictable and terrain is hilly, I like having All Wheel Drive sedans, I don't want a SUV or Crossover, still feel a car rides better and handles better. I still don't understand how Honda won't put All wheel drive on the Accord. Matt, Very Important I really like how in the video around 5:54 you put the vehicle window sticker up on the screen. I paused and enjoyed reading it over. Can you start doing that in more videos, I feel it is helpful. So sad Subaru is killing off the Legacy, so many decades that car was a deal, I loved my 2006 Subaru Legacy, very similar to the one you had. Thank you.

🧐This one's front and/or rear bumper aren't hanging off. That's kinda wild. I like the styling of the Kia K5 a lot. I am a huge fan of amber daytime running lights (DRLs).

As long as Nissan uses the glass CVT I'd never even consider them.
@calebwany842222 күн бұрын
They're good under like 60K/70K maybe like 5/6 years before the cvt starts doing it's thing

On a serious note, I LOVED driving Altimas when I worked for a rental car company. The seats are so comfortable and it's smooth. I would happy recommend an Altima to someone if it had a N/A motor and 8AT. The fact that Altima AWD and Camry AWD exist, makes it even more depressing how Subaru ruined the Legacy's legacy with such poor sales.

Question: If Nissan doesn't merge with Honda, is it even worth it to buy a Nissan?
@ak211223 күн бұрын
If awd is really that important to a buyer (for me it's absolutely not but..) I'd probably favor the Subaru. They do awd the best, they're comfortable and reasonably priced right around $30k. They also split the difference between Nissan and Toyota when it comes to reliability, with their CVTs being better than what Nissan offers. Plus, I've found Subaru dealers to be a lot more pleasant to deal with than Toyota and definitely better than Kia.

Me too I bought a 2024 legacy and it was so easy to negotiate and love the car especially in winter weather

The issue is actually the cvt works better in the altima if you asked me. I've driven both and also drove a 2019 altima over 200k with 0 cvt issues. The altima also doesn't look as boring as a subaru which looks like a grandpa car.

Really hoping Honda helps influence some of the drivetrain and finish issues, as I think there is really a great car here. Camrys are too close in price for this to be viable IMO.

Nissan is such a bizarre story. They make such nice looking vehicles. But the engine/transmission package is junk.

So much for the Subaru Legacy as the go-to AWD--it has been discontinued since the making of this video which, from the looks of it, was filmed sometime in the summer (gosh, these auto companies are really uptight about their embargoes, huh?)

It's still in production as a 2025 but they are not producing anymore than necessary......I see them less on dealer lots as well

Just not a compelling option even when you’ll get a good deal. Nissan needs to redesign this and the Maxima with a V6 and a better transmissions BUT they won’t so the slow death continues. Sucks cuz I’m a big Infiniti fan from G35 days.
