@NK 215 I'm still learning currently, but I've been told to take an IT help desk job. From what I've been told, some will train you and some will want you to know a little or even have your CompTIA A+ certificate. Either way it's computer related experience and you'll be able to get a general understanding of several jobs related to technology.

Once I graduate with Bachelor's in NetOps and security I will have 12 months of remaining benefit on my GI Bill to use and I can't figure out what to do with it. This was an option the intrigued me but I think I'm becoming tired of school and writing papers, and a second bachelor's degree is probably a waste of time, so maybe I will just leave the remaining 12 months alone.

Nice to see your channel growing. I remember when you had like...2...subscribers. lol. Editing has gotten much better as well :) If you have a stem background and knowledge in CS, do you think it would be more beneficial to just do the Masters or do the undergrad. Do you feel the masters degree does a good job even if you don't necessarily have a foundation in networking/security?
@nicoleenesse
@nicoleenesse 2 жыл бұрын
Aye! Thanks. Slowly making improvement. The masters does do a good job, but you will have to put in extra work to get the network fundamentals down. Masters also degree qualifies you for more jobs/higher level opportunities like management which may interest you down the line. Depends on your goals. You will need an undergrad to do the Masters program though so not sure if you have that down

@@nicoleenesse Lol thanks! I have 2 undergrads (civil engineering & petroleum engineering) so I'm covered there. Sometime next year I plan on doing my masters in Data Science, but cyber security is interesting to me and WGU is dirt cheap so I am not opposed to enrolling in the program and spending some time learning it. I mean, there really are no downsides as it opens up many doors and can go hand in hand with data science. I should start the enrollment process...like...tomorrow. lol. I'm so burnt out on doing construction project management in the cesspool that is Seattle. Keep up the good work with your channel.

Bachelors has a ton more certificates so it would be useful. There are a lot of good masters programs for a good price from top tier schools so I would shop around. But I mean at the end of the day most degrees are a checkmark. It's about the people you meet while you are getting your degree
