In this new segment of Coin Stories, Natalie interviews Bitcoin voices from around the world. Meet Marc Mantini, a Canadian native who recently moved with his wife to 'Bitcoin Island' in the Philippines. Marc has been in Bitcoin since 2016 and first discovered its value for saving time and money on remittance transfers between Canada, the Philippines and Australia. But when the pandemic hit and the government exerted more control than ever before, he realized Bitcoin also represented personal freedom.

Making money is not the same as keeping it there is a reason why investments aren't well taught in schools, the examples you gave are well stationed, the market crisis gave me my first millions in bitcoin trading, people shy away from hard times, I embrace them.. well at least my advisor does lol

I'm from the PH. Just for clarity, the PH Peso was 8:1 to the dollar in the 70s. 26:1 in the early 90s and 56:1 today. I got into bitcoin when I got scammed for approximately US$500 in 2017. That was my tuition fee. Natalie Brunell is a Bitcoin rockstar!

Can somebody please explain to me why it's safer to have your money in Bitcoin? It follows the market so when the market crashes so does Bitcoin. Also, I feel like if I wanted to go shopping with it I would have to check the charts to see how well it's doing before I pay. I mean when you walk in the store BTC is up and you are happy, but while you are shopping blam it drops like a rock, and you have to pay way more or put your groceries back. Doesn't it make more sense to do all the transactions with something like a stable coin of some kind?

You don't spend bitcoin for now, just keep stacking before b)ackrock and others price you out.

@@brookeschneider2321 the market is pulling back this is not a crash. If it were a real crash BTC and all other crypto would follow suit. Money never rotates out of the market into BTC...it crashes too.

In my opinion for the regular person on the street the problem with bitcoin is that he/she just really can't go to the store and buy what he wants or needs. And in order to get currency he needs a bank to exchange satoshis for that, if he can find a bank willing to do that. Marc and people like him that are trying to get merchants to accept bitcoin in payment are exactly what is needed now, much more than the BTC etf.

This is where those e-wallets come in. Wheather its Cash app or Paypal in US or Mercado Pago in Latin America or Grab in South East Asia, you can convert the Bitcoin you need to spend to these app right from your phone. Then buy what you need

Why do people emigrate to the US and Canada and then refer to home as being other countries? What a slap in the face!
@BradGrayable
@BradGrayable 8 ай бұрын
Because where you were born. Where you grew up. That's home. 🙄 Can you create a new home? Sure but it'll never be like the comforts of where you were born and grew up.

@@BradGrayable Bullshit! I've lived in 8 states, and my current one is my home and the one to which I'm loyal. Why the fk would you move to another country but still pine for the old one. NO. It's an insult. Go home, then. Go home!

What country do Americans or Canadians refer to when saying “back home” once they move abroad? Oh yeah. Insecure, dumb comment.
@fractalelf7760
@fractalelf7760 7 ай бұрын
@@Wizerud Hmmm not in my experience but if you say so. Sounds more like you lack experience on both sides. Also not sure how that persons comment in anyway conveys “insecurity”, the problem is too many are allowed in then kind of take a shitty attitude trying to make you think everything “back home” is so much better and shit on the culture and customs in the US and Canada because they are not like “back home”. Your a citizen this is now “home”.

Natalie. As a huge proponent of bitcoin, it's fundamentals and as you say that you are very picky when it comes to selecting your sponsors, why oh why did you choose Fold, with it's free spins of you pay money to sign up!!!! Why promote gambling. So disappointing, really.
