I just don't understand this logic. I care about my wife. I don't really care about my mom. (We had a lot of issues) I literally can't be around my mom for more than a day before old resentments start to resurface. I Want to be around my wife. 🤷♀️
@thabsmkhize24819 ай бұрын
@@rainynight02 that happens too. Both can be true at the same time. My fiancé is also at odds with his mom, loves her but isn’t quite close to her. But he adores me and looks after me in every way he can. That’s just his nature and I guess the value he places in me and our relationship. He always tells me he genuinely enjoys my company and it sounds like you’re the same with your wife, and that’s perfectly okay ❤

Not always true. My ex was a mama's boy and he treated me like shit and allowed his mom to treat me like shit. He also let his mom treat all his ex girlfriends like shit as well.
@thousandyardgavri27857 ай бұрын
@@Kidaru Let me rephrase it. You can see how well you'll be treated based on the quality of love he received growing up, and how close he is to that source. It can be from his mother, father, friend, sibling, aunt, uncle, grandparents or cousin..... If his closest relationship is to his narcissistic mother, then yea expect the worst.

she is deeply damaged psychologically because of her childhood and spilt that into op's life. it wasn't his fault that she miscarried, if only she got mental help instead of competing with op for his mother's attention. Its solely her fault and she had no rights blaming him for anything. especially since she wanted to have his mom for herself by limiting his interaction with her.
@SS_SUKUNA9 ай бұрын
if im being honest, it is her fault but isnt, she never got the right opportunity to help ease her mind. Granted, she is probably drugged up so heavily rn because of the medication that comes with those mental disorders. It is her fault for projecting her problems towards him, but it isnt in the sense that she wasnt cared for in a proper way besides with him. When he treated her good, it was probably hard for her ot understand the concept of someone actually caring. She wants to say that he has a coping mechanism when in reality, she was using hers against him. It isnt healthy, glad they divorced. But it isnt healthy to bottle it all up. Im glad they both got therapy to get through this. Even if they arent together doing it, at least they are finally getting the help they both deserve. Nobody in this story is in the wrong, one just had a rough time with a real home, and the other got severely abused. Why be in the wrong when you were just a child who didnt know what was right or wrong?
@mukymakazuki22189 ай бұрын
@@SS_SUKUNAits still her fault tbh
@user-yg2uy8bc8q9 ай бұрын
She could have gotten help before her condition went worse. But when you are developing those kind of disorders, it’s impossible to feel them. Even if they do feel it, it will feel normalized and they’ll only notice (if they are lucky enough) at a very bad point. What happened to OP was very bad. But surely it looked like his wife was an amazing person before she developed the personality disorder. So, it’s understandable why he was so thoughtful. He was such an amazing person anyway.
@google10308 ай бұрын
Idk, I don't think the state it left her in after he proposed divorce helped her condition, it's really bad for the baby. It's not like he had to go nuclear and go straight to proposing divorce. He could have talked through with her more why she felt he is spending too much time with him mom when she is very ill, or opted for marriage counselling before going straight to suggesting divorce. I think from that, and his reaction of hating her because she got pregnant and didn't telll him straight away, he is not a stable person to be with either if he was going to throw the relationship away so quickly with barely any effort to probe further or have further discussion and communication about it. Also hating your wife who just miscarried is not a normal way to react, even if there were issues regarding how they each felt about his mom living with/nearby them. The normal response would be shock, maybe some anger at the idea if you had known you might have been able to prevent it, but more than that, guilt for potentially aggravating the situtation by leaving her in sucha severe emotional state, sadness at your own loss, and sympathy for your wife because of what she has been through and is going through. The lack of OP to feel something other than anger towards her when she miscarried suggests he's not the man to be with for her, MIL issues or no MIL issues. She does need treatment for her Bipolar Disorder, and better support, someone who won't abandon her so easily, and he needs further therapy to sort out his issues with forming bonds with people. It's not normal to so easily want to discard your marriage with a person you apparently love and consider yourself extememely close with over this when you haven't exhausted other options.
@TheNightxSky8 ай бұрын
did you not listen to the full story? He tried to get answers from her, he tried asking her questions about it. but she refused to answer openly and honestly until he brought up divorce. Her miscarriage had nothing to do with him, there's plently of reasons why women miscarriage. If she had been honest wtih him AT ALL in the relationship none of this would have happened. IF she had been honest about the baby, the jealousy, his mother, none of this would havehappened, and she could have gone to therapy much sooner. She made rough choices for herself and her own mental health. NO ONE should give their partners such an ultimatume when their partner is a literal fucking saint just trying to do right by his family. @@google1030

theres a reason men like this are rare now. i'm very much like this. i always go out of my way to help those important to me. i've starved myself to make sure my friends didnt starve. i've been beaten so my friend's abusive boyfriend didnt beat her. i sacrifice and endure for the sake of those i care about and every single time they decide i'm not worth having in their lives despite everything i've gone through for them. i'm not the most sane man to begin with for various reasons but i'm loyal and honest and i willingly go through hell for those i care about only to be thrown away like trash. i don't know if thats the case for everyone or just me but i'd be lying if it said it hasnt taken a immense toll on my health (physically, mentally, and financially) i'm aware that due to my appearance no woman will ever love me so i endure and sacrifice for the sake of those i think are my friends and the cycle repeats itself. i just hope someday all of it is worth it.
