By the Wes, this is what happens when you marry eight times out of ten, a woman that’s preferably older over the age of 30+ with all due respect. They’re set in their ways (aka won’t compromise or can be molded. Hence the term bride and groom), and they’re definitely not changing for anyone. Thank God, you didn’t have kids!

I'm a gringo living in the US and married 10 years to a Colombian woman. You did the right thing leaving Colombia and your church. Some churches can be quite controlling and you were right to walk away. At the same time, however, please don't walk away from Jesus. He alone has the words of eternal life.

It’s funny how people expect the church to somehow represent God. The church is full of sinful humans. God is perfect. It’s weird people think the church represents God. Jesus represents God.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I am so sorry that you came across such bad people... It seems that they were predators who saw that you were a lost young man and lured you into a trap, showing you excessive feelings, so that they could later take advantage of you. You were really manipulated in a nasty way. It is a blessing that you have it behind you now! I hope that your stay in Poland will erase the sad moments in you! I see your videos, and it really seems like you are lost and still searching. I would suggest starting to put down some roots and build stability. It always seems like you are running from something, but it's really something inside of you. I hope you find peace or whatever it is you're looking for. I think growing some roots somewhere and taking it easy for a couple of years would help you find someone and build an actual life. This doesn't mean you have to stop traveling, but think of it as establishing a headquarters.

Here's my 2c for what it's worth: She didn't make unreasonable demands. In your video you state these problems: 1. She didn't want you going to bars/clubs 2. She didn't want you going to other churches 3. She didn't want you talking to other girls 4. She didn't want to leave her role in the Church to give you attention 5. Threats 6. Her and her family didn't want to learn other culture/language My objective take: 1. Who would want their spouse going to bars/clubs? 2. Church is an organization. Comparing it to the corporate world - if you were a leader in an organization would you want your spouse supporting the competitor? Appears to be a slap in the face. 3. Would you want your spouse talking/making friends with the opposite sex at the gym? 4. Is it fair to ask someone to give up their passion for someone else's neediness? 5. I get the threat thing. No need for that. Also, the intrusion isn't cool. 6. Unreasonable to expect this if you're a foreigner living in someone else's country. If you met her in the US it would make more sense. At the end of the day all this was told to you upfront. Perhaps you didn't take them seriously when they set expectations? The one thing that could play heavily in your favor would be her virginity. If she wasn't a virgin the strong religious values argument loses its weight. If she was then her positions carry more weight.

Once Wes said “Being Catholic in Colombia doesn’t mean virgin before marriage “. This is just a day before his marriage. You should watch that video if it is available? It is very complicated story than we can handle if you are an Asian first generation parent in the west . Wes is a very honest person, never hides anything that’s the reason that I have been watching all his videos. Most of the Indian kids lies and pretends that they like their culture and customs. Actually they do this to get financial support for all their life from poor Asian parents who never enjoy their life in the west. They sacrifice all their life for their pretending kids and grandchildren. They believe they do this for higher cost for their children and grandchildren.

So basically, points 1 to 3 go in her favor whereas points 4 to 6 go in his. There's another one he doesn't mention here but that he discussed in a previous video and it is that she didn't like him to smoke weed and to be honest, I agree with her on that one. What he said in his defense is that she used to spend most of her time at work or at church so he ended up bored at home and that's why he used to to smoke and play video games as he was restricted to go out too. I definitely feel that she prioritized her church over her marriage and she wasn't willing to give up things of her life style once she married but that same thing about not giving up parts of the lifestyle once they married also applies to him.
@WheresWes
@WheresWes 2 ай бұрын
nah it wasn't all told to me upfront. In the beginning it was about how much Jesus accepted me but as soon as I got married, now it's about how the church will control my life. Unreasonable expectations were placed on me when the same expectations didn't apply to other leaders or people that attended the church. It's the hypocrisy that I could not agree with.
@Japan-qt9on
@Japan-qt9on 17 күн бұрын
@@WheresWesI don’t pretend to know what your church did. However , the idea that we are supposed to submit ourselves to God and the church is orthodox Christianity 101. Jesus did this right lol. Jesus lived poor- not rich. He was a servant- not a ruler. He got crucified - not living his best life. Nothing about Christ was about pursuing fun or pleasure. Again, I have no idea what your church did. But any real Christian will say that Gods will is #1. Jesus before the cross… not my will but yours be done. Essentially all of the Christian faith is about submitting your will to Gods to pursue the will of the Father. Obviously the death threat stuff is wrong and only you know what your wife and church did. But to say that the church or wife was asking you to change your actions is pretty basic and even wrong expected in many cases. As long as it’s for moral good.

Woooo, what a crazy ride! I feel I can relate to you, I used to make thoughtless decisions because I felt like I want it, I love this person or I had fun and just want it to continue. It might look like a crazy, spontaneous, fun life from the outside, but I can imagine that from the inside its really heavy... I feel somehow moved with your story and it seems to me that you're looking for love and acceptance in all these pathways you tried. Maybe it will sound super shallow but in the end to find peace it requires to find this love and acceptance in yourself. Then you will stop throwing yourself on people that will sense it and try to harm you. And potential happiness is anywhere, no matter the country (although Poland is at least a bit safer I guess hahahah).

Also, your ex wife didn't seem to have the character to leave the country so even if things had worked out between you two, I don't think she would have been willing to move countries with you even if Colombia is a sinking ship at the moment.

Yeah, seeking help in religion and religious groups/cults is such a bad decision - always. Even if it's an established religion and religious institution, it makes a person less able to be responsible for their lives, because there's this "god" entity who "has your back" and "decides fate", so you can't argue with it. Not to mention that at the end of the day institutionalized religion is always about money and power. The cults and fringe religious groups are of course the worst offenders. A person should be very weary of religious groups and the more fringe and less popular the group, the more vigilant one has to be.

Wes, very nice heart-felt video where you opened up and cleansed your soul. You seem to be a genuinely good man, who has suffered some pain bcos of the circumstances you’ve found yourself in. Only my opinion, but speaking in general terms, Poland may not be the healing medicine you need right now. The people have been hardened by the former communist regime, and if they didn’t live through it, they were raised by parents who did. You may be more compatible with an Asian or Latin American girl bcos of their warmth that is inherent in their culture. This is not designed to take a cheap shot at the Polish people. They are good people, but bcos of their history they are not initially warm and you have to work very hard to gain a friend. Over to you!

This was such a good honest video. The only thing I think in the marriage you didn't understand what it meant to be part of a G12 Colombian church. Born again third world Christians are hard core, the church is your life and most of your time is spent with your church brothers and sisters. Maybe they didn't explain it to you properly the expectations. I still miss my church but I had to leave because I couldn't keep denying that I was gay to myself. Unless you were asking your wife for butt sex or something clearly immoral (like to stop going to church) your wife was supposed to submit to you, if she didn't then she was wrong. I hope you maintain your faith though Wes

I've gained valuable insights from your stories and wish you all the best in your endeavors. You are an incredibly intelligent individual, though I believe having a supportive partner that you can trust and respected could further enrich your life. I started watching your videos long time ago and i have the same experiences here in the USA as yours; today, i am in a relationship with a Colombian woman, but as i see it she is the opposite than your ex; very respectful and very professional independent woman

@@JAYY_JAYY as someone who has worked all over Asia, yea,l. Naturally beautiful yes, cosmic beauty korea or Japan may win. But Vietnam has mixed blood. So women have breast, not flat. And overall skinny.
