This is the second variation I've heard on this story. I'm not sure which one I like best. And the first one he does the transplant and puts them all through their own little personal hells for what they did to him. But he left the girl with the mother because he felt he couldn't give her a life living on the boat. This one seemed to work out just as well and showed them what the cost of betrayal was.!

Yeah, I think I would have gone a different way with my demands. At 60, not sure I would want to be the sole parent to a 7yo - especially without any support system, no friends or family.

Yeah, that other variant was...tough. The Dad actually wanted the daughter to not get her tubes tied - which, I believe, is reversible - but to have some kind of operation that would permanently sterilize her. She BARELY avoided having to actually do that, & that was only because the Doctor they went to wouldn't do it & the Dad rescinded the requirement after that. The sons actually went through with their punishments, & that wrecked their lives completely.

None of the children reached out to talk to him for 7 years and they are like, “we were a little bit wrong but … we didn’t think you would take it this hard.” Are you kidding me? They come to him, give a pathetic non-apology, basically saying they did a cost vs benefit and favored their mother and didn’t think there would be significant repercussions - but the only reason they are talking to him is that they want something from him. They were completely happy hiding their mom’s affair, their mom’s plans to blindside him, the fact that he had another child and never seeing him again. They are pretty evil.
