Something like this happened to me once. I got a polo shirt for my birthday once but it was a color I knew I wasn't gonna wear. My mom knew it too and asked me if I wanted to tell the person who got it for me to return it. I said no it's fine(plus it was an old lady from church). My mom talked to her anyway lol. The lady took it well because she wanted me to wear what she got me. She returned it for a color I liked but now it was too small!🤦🏻‍♂️😭 I told my mom again that it's ok because i didn't want the lady to feel bad again. My mom talked to her again!😂 once again she understood completely and got me a shirt that was my size and a color that I liked. I still use the shirt.
