She even has her own Bowser-like villain, the space alien Tatanga. -Rosalina is related to Peach as her daughter from the Past and Future at the same time. A bit complicated.

However, Rosalina being Peach's daughter is strongly suggested in the games/canon and wasn't a Game Theory episode. You find books about Rosalina's mother in-game that describe and show a partial picture of Princess Peach. While it doesn't straight up say "Rosalina's mother is Peach" the storybooks you reveal in Super Mario Galaxy describe her mother as: Having peach-colored defined lips, Long Strawberry-Blonde Hair that reaches her waist, and Sapphire blue pearl-shaped earrings. We even get a drawn picture showcasing peaches exact hairstyle and her earrings (though it only shows her lower face). We also get hints that Rosalina's father has an amazing mustache. This is coupled with the fact that Rosalina is from the Future (kinda/complicated). And has the power of the stars similar to Princess Peach. (Not to mention the resemblance.). That is all canon.

The story of Mario Galaxy is that she was born in the future of the current Mario timeline, and the Universe ended up in peril. So she reset the entire universe with her magic completely recreating it just like it was but from the beginning. She became the mother of the Lumas as the Universe caught up to our current timeline (where she meets Mario (who could potentially be her father, we don't know for sure. We only know her father is said to have an amazing mustache, and that her mother is Peach). At the end of the game, history kind of repeats itself early as the entire universe was going to be consumed by a massive black hole, but the universe is saved by the Luma's and Rosalina recreating the universe yet again (a second time). Mario wakes up in the Mushroom Kingdom at the same time as his current timeline, as if nothing had changed. TL:DR Rosalina is from the future, but the events of Mario Galaxy cause her to reset the Universe and Timeline twice.
