My mechanic buddy rebuilt the top end with aftermarket springs and lifters, turned off the cylinders on demand option and she has been better than stock since. It's now at 175,000 miles and not an issue.

hey Josh, did some work on an LS motor here in Australia and it started squeaking too, changed the belt and idlers, and still kept squeaking, changed the water pump and still kept squeaking, so i tried a trick and old mechanic told me... get a bar of soap and hold it against the belt on both the inside and outside while the engine is running.... and sure enough it stopped squeaking, results do seem to vary though, sometimes it stops squeaking completely, sometimes it only stops it squeaking for a short while and then you can do the soap trick again. anyways could be worth a shot. keep up the great work and content mate, love it!
