@@Hbzprojects I drive automatics with two feet for two reasons. First, it's nice to have a foot hovering over the brake pedal, quickens response times a lot. Second, I grew up driving manual trannys so it feels awkward if I don't use my left foot to drive an automatic.

Dear Sleeperdude family, especially Josh this time. 👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! It's nice/great to see someone not giving up respectively not letting Murphy's law triumph. Congratulations 🎉 for having cute dog bear Murphy and congrats 🎉 for the fact, that Murphy's law has almost no chance in/around the Sleeperdude family shop. The car sounds beasty now and has more potential too. I bet that the famous highway racer "Redhead Tosh" appreciates both. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all involved life forms (humans and animals). Post Scriptum: By the way: What happened??? No mini sausages? Not even for the animals? And although I saw a RC Cola, no bottle chewing for the big pig?

I don’t think I’ve ever completes a major project and not had extra hardware leftover. 🤣 It was cool to see you do this job. My Dad recently experienced DOD failure on his suburban at only 100k. I tried to get him to just do a delete kit but he ended up just getting a crate engine cause at the end of the day with the labor rates if your not doing the delete yourself the engine replacement ends up being around the same money if not cheaper but you take that gamble of it happening again.

You should have washed it before disassembly. I cannot believe you didn’t. It’s not only dirty with crap in the air that gets in your eyes and nose, it’s terrible protocol. It subjects disassembled parts to degradation caused by exposure to foreign impurities. A clean project is aesthetically more pleasing. But your knowledge of this project as you investigated is impressive. You are the real McCoy.

Nice job fixing the motor. You bright it back to life and gave it a nice sound. Don’t worry about the squeaky noise. If it’s anything serious you’ll find out soon. 😂 I usually associate that sound with a bad bearing on the power steering pump or a loose belt.

Back in the early 90’s I had dual exhaust put on my truck and my dad was so mad at me and I’ll never forget the conversation he had with me. He looked at me and said you know loud exhaust will blow up your engine and at that time I didn’t understand what he meant after the second engine I finally figured it out it wasn’t the exhaust it was my foot and my wanting to hear the exhaust lol.

I have found out over the years that when you restore the top end of a motor with miles on it then the bottom end will go boom .I would have got another motor but that is me good luck .💥

I love the attention to detail you take. I had the same issue, getting hot, after I did the exact same thing to mine. VVT delete 550 cam kit from truck Norris. Ended up being an air pocket

I have an '07 Trailblazer with that same engine and it cooks. Back at about 75,000 miles, one of those valve springs broke and dropped a valve. Fortunately it didn't hurt the engine. My mechanic buddy rebuilt the top end with aftermarket springs and lifters, turned off the cylinders on demand option and she has been better than stock since. It's now at 175,000 miles and not an issue.

I hate you had to deal with that. General Motors has had a very serious problem with that for years and hadn’t done anything about it and the Duramax diesel are so bad about breaking the crankshafts I have never in my life. Glad you got it fixed though brother.

Easy way to get the air pockets out, raise the front of the vehicle up(either on the rack or drive up on ramps) raised at least 12 inches, take the cap off of the coolant jug then start the engine. The air pockets will escape quicker.

Antifreeze and belts= squeaky belt. I’ve used a bar of soap to rub on the belt. Just hold the bar of soap up against the belt sometimes both sides of the belt. Generally it will clear the noise up. In some cases I’ve used Indian Head shellack on belts. If that doesn’t stop the noise nothing else will other than a new belt.

AIR POCKETS!! Lord Have Mercy... Ya gotta pull a heater hose... raise it up about 18" fill it with a funnel...and you will girgle... and burp and the motor will drink up another gallon of collant. Been there a few times. Great job.

Josh , quite a job you just accomplished with your Pit Crew. I am sure Tosh will be happy to have her Yukon back in time for a Mother's Day excursion. Now along with the Oldsmobile Wagon your wagon fleet is just missing the 1964 Galaxie Country Sedan. Hope to see that one joining the fleet in an upcoming episode. Take care.

My wife destroys motor mounts by hitting R while still rolling forward. Its a violent jolt to the drivetrain, I ended up putting in solid motor mounts and a very stiff trans mount..so far so good
