Your PPU wishlist videos save me so much money! Seeing the comparisons helps kick fomo to the curb. Beaux Reves was the only polish on my list but I KNOW I’ll want some things from Black Friday sales and possibly upcoming holiday collections so I may skip PPU entirely this month. On the other hand, I just bought HT 50 Shades of Greige because of you 😊. Love it!

IMO, Dany Vianna is the most artistic maker out there - she has a very unique eye and a grasp of detail that doesn’t necessarily come across in swatches. I hope you love your picks! TFS

Ahh this makes me even more excited! I haven’t checked their site before but I’m only vaguely familiar (assuming I’m thinking of the right brand) from Hillary talking about them! I think the one she shared is inspired by Mondrian but I think I’ve seen one inspired by Klimt too? Definitely so cool!! I need to browse that series :)

I love thermals… I live in an area where you can get sunburnt & frostbite in the same wk 😅 so going from heat to a/c they are awesome!!! And I own the first Cadillacquer thermal in ppu from 2019 & it still transitions

I'm trying to restrain b/c Black Friday (and other bills, lol), but I feel the nostalgia is what is drawing me in more than the polishes themselves? I LOVED Polly Pocket as a kid (had like a whole dang town, lol) so Nailed It! is really working on me as are GPL (Jem and the Holograms!) and Dreamland (My Little Pony!) even that Vibrant Scents Easy Bake Oven brownies top coat... all things I loved growing up. But, like you I don't need another top coat and most of these polishes could be duped, but it's that dang comfort of nostalgia for these toys that's making me reconsider. I prob. should close out the PPU site tab and walk away 😆😂😂

Omg yeah the nostalgia theme is definitely kinda dangerous! 🙈 and it’s funny bc even though there are definitely dupes/close alternatives, in a way I can totally understand wanting a polish for the specific name/reference lol. I honestly have still been thinking about that dang easy bake scent 😝 surely cuticula has a brownie scent I can get later right?? 🙈

I'm inspired by your restraint! I haven't been tempted by PPU in a full year, but for some reason this month is grabbing me? I didn't even care for the theme at first, lol, so I have no excuse! I'm also super interested in the Lumen and the Dreamland, but also had my interest grabbed by DRK 'Lizard Grabber', Vanessa Molina 'Pixeled Quests', and Alchemy's 'Sweet Tooth'. I tend to be very 'all or nothing' with PPU for some reason, so I'll probably either grab 3-4, or none of them. I do feel like PPU is sometimes the riskiest purchasing to do, because there aren't always live swatches of the polishes I'm interested in -- often my destashed polishes are PPU. I'm going to revisit my wish list inspired by your pickiness :)

also wanted to say, I love how you show the polishes that certain colors remind you of! I feel like that's really helpful if someone is considering a polish -- it takes away so much fomo knowing that there are similar colors out there.

I totally get what you mean about going all or nothing on PPU, I feel like since you haven’t really grabbed anything over the last year, having a 5~ haul sounds reasonable ! 🤣 but ugh I do get that too about it being risky, I’ve definitely regretted some PPU/HHC purchases before too. But at least we can always destash 😅 And I’m so glad you & others find that helpful! There really is so much overlap these days 🙈

Same with holding out on sales, but I really haven't bought polishes for so long aside from base and top coats. There's also having polishes that I haven't worn before that justifies not buying any more polishes, but also, I've been focusing more on skincare, so hand creams and sugar scrubs are what I'm keeping an eye out for~

For inspo, I feel like Garden Path Lacquer succeeded at putting Jem and the Holograms in a bottle lol ✨💖✨ That's the one that really grabbed me when I first saw it, and I don't typically go for that kind of kitchen sink polish. But it has all the pretty blues and pinks and a shifty rainbow of shimmer, and I keep thinking about it, so that tells me I might have to grab it. I never had the doll, but I sure was a fan of the show on Saturday mornings 🌈💿✨ I was also drawn to Dreamland like you, and I appreciate the Cirque comparison because I also convinced myself out of it, thinking it is similar to Ohana from Cirque, which I have. Looking at swatches again, it's kind of a cross between Isle of Capri and Ohana, or maybe depending on lighting. So pretty. Lavender with aqua shimmer is just too gorgeous. But I'm skipping lol I think to make a one-polish order worth it though, I'll try that Fillin' Groovy from KBShimmer because I'm always looking for base coats that don't have PVB in them. And I might try that heel stick too, looks good for winter feet 👣 Appreciate hearing your process! Impressed by how you can spot those dupes you see! 💅

aw i love that! i’m not familiar with Jem and the Holograms but it seems so fun based on the polishes i’ve seen inspired by it hehe. yeah i think if you keep thinking about, it’s a good sign its meant to be yours!! and omg yes you’re so right about the Dreamland one looking like Ohana as well, iirc that one was a bit more sheer so i thought it would be too light, but yeah I think Isle of Capri was too dark or blue, so a cross between the two sounds accurate! definitely pretty, but worth skipping since its not unique 🙂‍↕️ yeah I think polish wise i’m only going to get the BDV one, so i’m considering adding the brownie scented base to avoid a one-polish order 🤣 I’ve heard KB’s glitter grabber is great!! and oh wait the heel stick sounds so good too! i’m so glad this was helpful 🤗🤗

Oh wow that is an amazing restraint Stephanie. White anythings are not for me but I was sure you would be tempted. While I am the last person to tout chunky glitters, I think it is them who set the BDV apart. The Atomic HAS to become mine. They have become one of my favorite brands and like Polished For Days always have an extra twist. As for the theme, except for Barbies and Mastermind not much was around when I was a kid (👵🏻) so nostalgic toys and the inspos were to me too funny

@ no unfortunately I can get Atomic only through PPU, HHC or PGB. But this is the reason these collabs always get me - also Cracked I can only get there. And if others ship internationally the shipping is just exorbitantly high.

I *so* have the same problem with seasonal buying! I see tropical things at this time of year and can't even consider them, whereas in the summer I might feel differently. I'm even struggling with the several early-release winter collections that are coming out now, like ILNP and Olive Ave... I'm not ready to plan ahead even that far yet! Also, this month I'll be getting off more lightly than I ever have since I started shopping PPU -- possibly two polishes (Ard As Nails and Kathleen & Co), unless I manage to talk myself out of them. That's great, though; I'll save the $ for Black Friday sales, and I super appreciate the PPU folks for putting the link to those on the home page.

I have 4 on my wishlist, Dreamland, DRK, Ethereal & Lemming - I do think I’m going to get all of them, I don’t have anything like these in my collection. The Ethereal is a sibling to her Lorraine which I regret not getting during rewind bc I wasn’t impressed by any of the swatch photos and adore every pic I’ve seen since folks started posting their own pics. That Chameleon is gorgeous, but I don’t do thermals w my short nails.

@ For sure! I totally get it. If something isn’t like screaming at me I totally will skip. But the PL is kinda softly screaming. 🤣 Vapid makes some of my fav cuticle oils! And they do the best scents. I waffle between hose and the Nail Buddies. I like the vapid because it is a dropper and sometimes I like that application better. Rollerballs can be finicky sometimes.

I'm thinking about the drk nails one, but it also looks like the moon cat "serpents of Eden" from the Pandora's box collection. Was thinking of picking up the whole Pandora's Box set if they all looked good, but the glow in the dark one looked boring and I can only justify picking up a whole set if I like every nail polish. The glow in the dark from KB shimmer looks much more exciting than the glow in the dark from Mooncat's Pandora's box.

The Polished Mage said the KBShimmer scrub smelled like banana runts, if that helps. I might pick it up and save it for Summer, but I’m not sure. It might be a fun Winter pick me up scent.

Thank you so much for talking me out of the dupes! I think the blue Penelope Luz magnetic is so beautiful! It reminds me of dark, clear, Arctic water! Alas, I can’t handle banana smells! I love actual bananas and I’ll eat banana bread, but any banana flavoring is on my nope list! I really loved the Amber and Oakmoss scrub and the Pistachio scrub from earlier this year, though!

I think for me a lot of the colors in this month’s PPU just don’t speak to me esp since I’m still stuck in that moody, vampy, spooky colors season 😂 and like you said, it’s a bit of disappointment because none of them really jumped out at me as certain inspirations but also, a relief? @@PolishedYogi i really enjoyed the easy bake oven. it really was easy. all the dry ingredients for a single cake type came in a little packet (think like a hot chocolate instant mix packet) and then you would pour it into a metal tin, add water, mix and then pop it in the oven, which had a little hot light bulb in it. i maybe already liked baking at that point, since my family often made cookies together, but the easy bake was a great way to enjoy single serving desserts

I had the same reaction when I saw this month's KB Shimmer scrub. I love coconut and banana, but I associate it with summer. I just don't want that scent in fall or winter. Yes, I'm running out of room too, so I really have to be a lot pickier as well.

The Dany Vianna is so cute! It tempted me a lot but honestly I know myself and I don’t wear cutesy polishes very often and prefer dark colors 🧛🏻‍♀️ I plan on picking up By Vanessa Molina Pixeled Quests, I love the color of the flakies! I’m also getting the Cuticula Scented Top Coat & the KBShimmer scrub because I’m almost out of mine and it sounds like a nice scent! Btw, I had a top coat from Vibrant Scents in the scent Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake and it didn’t smell good to me, so maybe that will help you know you made a right decision skipping it lol 😆 I totally recommend their cotton candy/fruit scents from Vibrant Scents, those have always been great! The chocolate notes I would avoid which is sad because I do enjoy chocolate and chocolate scented things

its great you can recognize that as a polish you like without having to own it! thats huge, and i think thats how i’m feeling about the Penelope Luz 😝 that sounds like a great haul though 😍😍 and oh noo thats a bummer you didn’t like that top coat!! yeah i feel like chocolate scents can sometimes be off putting, i just remember having a Noodles cuticle balm that was brownie scented and i lovedddd it so much so i think thats what i’m hoping this topcoat would be like lol. but i’ll take my chances and skip on it! definitely would love to try one of their fruity ones in the future though 😋

I think there are a few very beautiful options but lots of repeated inspirations so I was kind of disappointed. Maybe I was TOO excited for the theme lol there is a really awesome stamping plate full of Care Bears and Rainbow Brite and all the things that defined my 80s/90s childhood so I’m 100% getting that!
