Big boy is a blessing in disguise man. Everyone needs a friend like him. Seeing how much he loves Scotty & always pushing him and motivating him through his recovery is so awesome... It's tough to rewatch all this tho. I got diagnosed with cancer a few weeks after his crash and couldn't walk due to nerve damage for most of 2017. Watching Scotty's recovery was the inspiration I needed to keep fighting. it gave me so much light on my darkest days I'm now in remission and on track to be cancer free. Scotty if you ever read this I just wanna say I'm so happy to see how far you've come since your crash and also thank you for sharing your story, because it gave me a reason to keep fighting and seriously saved my life ❤️

My buddy had a head on crash with a cliff wall. Had a lot of the same surgeries as scotty and sounded just like him in this video. 2 years after the accident i cant even tell he had an accident. It looks to me like the majority of the people on here are too immature to realize how amazing this is. Scotty almost died, and was at one point fully paralyzed. He can move his arm/leg a little which for only a month is HUGE. I had a friend who had a similar injury after getting hit by a skiier through his helmet. He had less of his skull removed, but still a good chunk right off the front. He was not this coherent and normal after only a month. To me this seems like 100% normal scotty as far as his brain goes, he's positive as always and looks great to me. One month of progress is nothing, think about two months, think about a year! You could easily be riding again in the years to come. I seriously look forward to watching your progress. I know r2r is great for bike and moto guys, you should talk to jessy nelson, he had a similar injury this season and is recovering well. You guys should also talk to hi fives foundation, they're mainly for skiers but still talk to them

Just started following scotty, I’m old enough to remember when the bmx craze started in the 80s and I’ve just bought my daughter her first bmx , the trix you guys do now blows my mind and watching this brought a tear to my eyes to see how you’ve progressed.. fair play dude .. Toby Thackray u can never let u self get sad about it I somehow smiled most of the way thought of course it was hard but I had to keep strong so everyone around me could keep hope , but you just fight and I beat all odds to even walk again never mind ride a horse again and still showjump ❤️ i had to be fed by tube and had to go to hospitals every day for 3 years and still do Phisio and still have my wheel chair which on bad days I still use ... but u just gotta smile and be strong other wise u will never get any where ❤️❤️

I've had my fair share of injuries but its never stopped me carrying on apart from one which I was unable to do sport for 6 months as I couldn't walk properly and without pain its still painful now but I have some good strong painkillers to help me through the pain as it doesn't affect my mobility, that was bad enough for me, I can only imagine what you went through and you are a truly inspirational person and I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that.

holy shit dude hopefully you get better soon. i know half lids are usually the go to helmets for bmx riders but i strongly recommend full face for extra safety for those that are into bmx or any cycling sport the same goes for motorcyclist because ive seen people wear half lid type helmets and again strongly recomend full face especially for motorcycles as your on the street.

Taylor Hemington yeah I've been looking at the proper helmet to use for bmx and after watching this vid I'm gonna go with a full face. Also picking up some sort of motocross chest/stomach armor because my last spill left me lucky that I didn't rupture my spleen or liver. It should've done alot more damage than it did so again very lucky but not risking it anymore

To be honest: I ride my road bike daily, and I didn't always wear a helmet because I used to think I wouldn't need it. But now, I will never ever ride a bike witout a helmet again. His helmet saved his life. And the same could always happen to me.

I feel your pain man, I had a dirtbike accident last year and snapped a vertebrae in my neck in half and broke another in my back. I had the same neck brace for 4-5 months. Hope everything is getting better for you with each day. A chiropractor did wonders for me with recovery

I ride monster cross its like a road bike with 2" tires. I rode bmx when I was younger. I found this channel about six months ago and love it. Scotty legit has the right to play rocky music before every video, this guy is a soldier. I haven't had the courage to watch this video until today. I've avoided it while watching other videos non stop while being laid off from work. I'm waiting for you guys to make a movie it would be sick. Best cycling content on KZbin ! This proves that you can come back from a major injury and really makes you think about trivial problems in life that aren't that serious but still hold people back.
