My worst financial mistake is not having the back up money ready when you offered the life time access at 50%. I hope you bring it back every now and again for individuals who are really low income but would like to pull themself out of this cycle. You and Leon are doing great work. Thank you.

I started doing a twitch streaming service. I was so excited to get started.. I researched and researched, bought the best gear, set up the best looking stream ( I thought ) spent money doing all these things setting it up and it became a flop. No one watched.. me 1-2 people max at a time, hour spent on hours doing this, spending money too... and for then having no content for people truly watch, but having the best gear, mic, boom arm, great headset, emotes made sooo... on ... major lesson learnt.... Don't just jump in anymore , take it slow take a step back and do things with a slow heart and then progress into better things.

Sorelle, the last thing you spoke about was about buying your one way plane ticket and leaving everything behind. I am exactly on that same side of the coin sister! I gave up my apartment in Chicago, sold my car, packed up most of my stuff into boxes and left them at my parents'. I quit my freelancing job in Chicago bc it wasn't location independent and because I could feel how it didn't make me happy and didn't make use of my passions. I gave myself a trial run to live nomadically in the US for a couple months to see how I like it before leaving to live abroad long term. I LOVED it! I wouldn't have met all these amazing people who now feel like lifelong friends if I wouldn't have made that decision. I bought a camera and now I am pursuing a great big passion, photography and writing. My plan is to freelance my way through this work, live and travel throughout south america where the costs of living are cheaper while I earn in USD. And invest and save a certain percentage of my earnings. Tysm for sharing your story and I hope to inspire and impact other people with my story and my work as well!

Dear sorellie, I usually comment on your vídeos something rather vague along the lines of “love this, great content” etc… and I do mean that. But this time I want to be a bit more intentional. Thank you for this video. I keep making financial mistakes but I also realize how up until two years ago I had 5 euros for my everyday expenses and now I am looking at almost 5 figures in savings. Something clicked and I got into this journey full steam. Almost at the same time you started uploading financial content and ever since I got so much more serious on my journey. By sharing your journey you make it seem perfectly manageable to become a millionaire in less than a decade, with the right strategies and hard work. You don’t just sell a dream, you actually show how difficult but possible achieving all this is. I appreciate you. Love from Barcelona

Hi!!! One mistake I made, out of the many mistakes in my life, was to flop out of a temporary business I created for myself. It was supposed to last until the Soccer World Cup of 1994 was over. I saw an ad in the paper that offered a pack of 100 world cup fixtures with a blank page for businesses or shops to stamp their advertisements on. I was making 100% return on them and I did that for a whole... day! I had to borrow some cash to start off and at the end of the day, I returned the cash borrowed and kept about 10 times that amount. And that was it!!! I didn't want to step out of my comfort zone and was too lazy to walk around town selling packs of world cup fixtures... Lesson learnt: Where there is money to be earned... go for it, or else. Thanks for all your vids!!!

As a new business owner I had to do a lot of self healing from people pleasing to overthinking. My trauma was showing up in my business so I had to pause to work on me. I’m still working on the overthinking part. I tend to be a perfectionist which delays or stops me from releasing things. Seeing the lack of detail or quality in other businesses and seeing them flourish reminds me I don’t need to do so much to succeed.

Everyone has success and failures. It's part of being human and evolving in life. Everyone has different needs. I bought my first house at 21. I grew up poor and with nothing and I am now starting to help my son save to buy a house when he turns 25. BTW there is nothing wrong being tight with your money as money is hard to come by.

I guess the biggest thing I feel is a failure is fighting depression. I have had depression for years, and only recently gotten help. I had money saved, but because I didn't care about myself I blew it. If I had invested it, or purchased land, I wouldn't have blown it away. I would now be in a much better place then I am now. I don't know how different things would be now, but I am building a better foundation for my life.

Your pigtails are adorable. I didn't have access when I was younger. I stopped at a stand where the guy was soliciting. He asked how much I was making. I told him. He said I wasn't making enough, so I didn't start until I was in my latter 20's. I bought Delmarva (out of business), and Amazon. Much more effective.

I am in awe of your energy. Thank you for sharing Sorelle. I find so much comfort in your journey. It seems very similar to how I would like my journey to flow. 🕊 Something I've learned this far (having one failed company) and running my second start-up is that if you don't completely invest in where you are and how much you are going to need to learn from the journey, you will not succeed. To try means to = completely invest, put all your effort in, research, fail, learn, repeat. 🔥.

My biggest financial failure was selling my first home at the worst possible time in April 2020. Had I waited just 4 or 5 months I would have made 50k more, and 100k more had I waited just one year. I got stuck buying my next house with less sq ft, only 1 (outdated) bath, and none of my beautiful updates and landscaping for $100k more than i sold my first home for, and $170k more than i bought my first home for. If I could go back to 2016/2017 I would have bought the tiny outdated 2×1 that my realtor persuaded me against but ended up selling for 100k profit 3 years later. I struggled to pay my mortgage on my 3x2 and had to have roommates to make it work, put a ton of sweat equity into, and sold for only $60k more 3 years later. Still not a horrible return but I caused myself a lot more headache and would have been further ahead buying the smaller house I could update myself. Unfortunately I didn't learn my lesson and bought too much house again because I didn't feel up for a project. But now I'm dealing with the previous seller's shoddy work and having to FIX their updates. At that point, i would have rather picked the finishes I wanted myself and done the updates right from the start. My other big financial mistake wad being paralyzed with excess money in my bank account. I could have added 10% to those savings and instead was scared of losing it. Ultimately I lost it anyway due to inflation!!!

I invested in the stock market in my early 20s and am no better off for getting in so early. I tried "getting in early" with IPOs and seemingly good opportunities and in almost all cases watched them go nowhere or down after I bought. The lesson I learned is that the haves who are in the know, win on the backs of the have nots. The have nots who are kept out, basically go nowhere.

I jumped into the influencer trend, got contacted by an ad agency to get sponsors and I paid them to do that upfront. It turned out they disappeared due to Covid or what I suspected - I got scammed. * Easy money from social media is a big danger.* Now I think I took the risk to invest in that opportunity and still learnt a lesson, so I don't regret it although I am more careful now with deals and contracts.

I think over spending on things you don't need, not being discipline about paying credit cards, and not finding ways to save money if you're going to spend it, are lessons I've learned. Another is learning to appreciate the money you've worked so hard for enough to not let it go so easily. Save and only spend on what you really need or want. Nowadays, there's so many ways of making extra income to start saving with and not living paycheck to paycheck. It does takes to time and discipline get to that point. Thanks Sorelle for this video.

My flops? I feel like everything I do is a flop. But the nice thing about doing that is that when I let it really consume me I can find at least a little something, be it a lesson or just a perspective I overlooked that brings me back to see that I am doing exactly what I need to be doing My first step was starting my first company with zero plan other then, start it and figure out what to do with it later. Doing that forced me to have to think about constantly. Forget about the money part, which goes over everyone's head, but I come from the school of thought that money is a side effect of doing what your here to do. But I still believe I have a ways to go. Something else worth noting...don't rely on anyone to have your back. No one cares about you. And they don't want you to succeed, unless your giving something up for them.

My hard won lesson: No matter what the possible "upside" future promise, you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Sticking out abhorrent behavior for a future promise: a great career, a close family, meaningful friendships, lots of money... It is not worth the personal toll that erodes your soul and self worth. If you find yourself constantly saying "It will be better when..." time to seriously evaluation if this is the right path. All the best to you on your journey!

And for the one reading who is concerned by this: value is not just money. Value is also what is valuable to you. Emotion can be value. So can experience. I'd say: have an eye open to what is valuable to you, personally, and see that grow and develop as it literally and figuratively enriches your life.

I do self-employed gigs and it makes me extremely nervous that each time my income will be different and I will not be able to make it through the month. It kind of leaves me drained and depressed that I have to count every penny and not buy a single thing I want. How do I deal with that? I would appreciate any advice from the community!! I would consider having a plan for when you first get there. I.e. a small job, a course you've enrolled it or some sort of program. You don't need too much money because finding an apartment or job are things you can do within a month unless your goal is just to travel and then you can have a bigger budget for that.

Thank you for your kind story and life lessons for everyone 🤗. I guess my mistake was putting all my eggs in one basket and when things were going great, I ignored the warning signs and lost all my money and on top of that, I lost my mums money too (invested in the right asset, but I placed it the wrong place)! I guess human nature is to run towards pleasure and run away from pain..

The Only thing that stops people from getting what they want is Fear...and believe me fear has a way of hiding itself in ways you cant imagine... I wont call these regrets but more like non judgemental phase where you just have to go thru a bumpy road to learn the lessons needed to succeed . Remove the regret part and your potential will be unlocked

I love the background music, makes me relax and take the information more freely. Please more videos of changing mindset, as my head is becoming hurricane. Feel like I'm so close to change it, but for some reason I try to hold on on 9-5. Thank you for being you! ❤️❤️❤️

Sorelle you are the best little sister in The World! You and Leon are the G.O.A.T.s (.) you are Amazing Darling thank you 🙏🏽 I play all videos for my husband! I share My understanding thru the codex learning we are too in our 30s with children! The biggest mistake we ever made financially was engaging in consumerism and it’s harmful wasteful behaviors! I’d go on and on but I’m sure that’s a topic with the order! But girl 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

Hello Sorelle can you please recommend as well crypto and stocks platform for trading? And maybe a video about it.. as there are tones of them, so it can be really confusing to many beginners, me included! Thank you very much for all you do and information you provide! 💙

I think your (all too short) chapter six is a nice summary of the entire video. Failing to give yourself the space to learn more in life (see your hunch at the end of chapter seven [13:13]). Story of so many people's lives. Thanks for your openness.

So glad you made this video! I guess a lot of people are scared of making a mistake, especially when you have the pressure of everyone around you expecting you to do very well. And if you fail, you get the "I told you it was a bad idea!" Or maybe that's just me :D

That doesn't matter, it's better to make a mistake than do nothing and not learn anything at all, better to improve than be stagnant.
