Well, I also purchased from Korbanth. My ROTS skinnyflex (prebuilt - w/proffie) had some simple problems, but it was due to a bad micro SD card slot. I soldered it back in and it now works fine. My Duke V3 from them is still being built and programmed and I may get it before May the 4th. I know other people who've ordered it too and they've been waiting longer than me (months longer than myself). But yeah, I don't know why their Quality Assurance is not on par either.

Vader's Valut. I had gotten locked out of 3 Saber Trio reopenings straight in a roll, given up and took what I had saved over those attempts and decided to treat myself to a fully loaded Malstrom with all the bells and whistles. About two months after placing the oder that worldwide chip shortage hit and I was curious if it would affect my order and I contacted them. Apparently, I must have been the 500th person to ask that question that particular day and I promptly received a long reply personally from the owner explaing that using the "contact us" tab on the website wasn't actually how to contact them, how they have been in the business a long time, how it's not their first rodeo, and on and on and on. All I did was ask one single question, politely. It left me with the impression that VV doesn't want you to ask questions or contact them for anything, just pay them, go away and wait a year for your saber. I love the saber but customer service is half of the deal and counts for something too. I'm thankful that I've had no issues with the saber, I hate to think what contacting them to resolve an actual issue would be like.

I think some companies have to become self aware of how much volume they take in. They over do orders, and end up cutting corners. We’ve seen this happen with SaberForge and their longer than estimated delivery times. I’m okay waiting longer as long as communication is transparent and quality isn’t compromised.

“It takes three different Allen wrenches!” Not gonna lie, this gave me a chuckle. I’ve used a manual wheelchair my entire life, and enjoy being able to do my own maintenance. Practically every bolt on these suckers uses a different size Allen wrench. I’ve even had ‘chairs where I had to use imperial and metric sets just to be able to adjust everything! 😂

Ouch. I've ordered from Saberforge a few times but the longest I waited was only a bit over 4 months (I say "only", I'm patient and I trust them), and just a few days ago I received my Guardian Mk 4 after waiting for less than two months, which is easily my quickest turnaround. Only real issue I have is needing to pay the import fees getting them to the UK, but the quality of the pieces I've had has been great every time. When I even got the wrong blade with my Prodigal Son (got a regular one rather than the thin neck version that had a slightly higher cut for the scattering film inside), they sent me a replacement blade without needing the old one back, which is pretty reasonable given the blades are much cheaper and it would be a headache to send the blade back I guess.

It's been a while since this video was released, but I just wanted to say, most of these are Korbanth's issue. They've a bad reputation for high end sabers and end-user experience. Their installs fail after months, I'm surprised yours still works. About the glitching when you press the aux button, that could've been fixed pretty easily. It was because the speaker was too loud and bassy, that it kept activating the clash threshold in your config file. All you'd need to do is increase the clash threshold until it works fine, and/or lower the volume.

I've been waiting for my Sabertrio Vektra CFX for about 3 months. and again so long on my Luke Proffie Replica by CrimsonDawn Sabers. i ordered both black friday at the same time 2 years ago and they arrived almost at the same time. definitely a thumbs up to Sabertrio. my graflex xenopixel also 3 months from endorlightsabers. My problems with Lukes were that the speaker was loose, so I glued it myself. The problem with my Xenopixel Graflex is that the screw that holds the hilt together can no longer be tightened. so everything is loose. and the screw that holds the chassis together in my Luke lightsaber is already starting to loosen.

It is a real shame that had happened to you. Poor communication (on their end, that is) is a breakdown that results from a discrepancy or disconnect between what is said and what is understood. Taking Randy out of the machine, those within the company clearly did not understand what was going on with your sabre. Expensive, high-end lightsabres should never be withheld from any buyer. It’s poor practice. Yes, KR is supposed to have the most screen accurate lightsabers. I buy empty hilts from them and then send them to my private installer to install the electronics (CFX in my case).

😬😬😬 Your lightsaber seizing… should not be normal! Lol I think an installer told me that if you raise up the sensitivity parameters on the soundboard that the speaker will no longer keep triggering the clash affect 👍🏻

That's why I'm a stickler for making sure things work correctly. Sounds like they first person who sent the kylo out was a new starter at the company, and as for you having to pay for the shipping back due the plthw price you paid personally I think the company should have paid for that. Plus if it had a warranty on it they could have just replaced it.

When comes to purchasing sabers before they're assembled and waiting up to 6 months, I feel that there's one exception and that Sabertrio. They have 3 levels of customization. Their ready to ship sabers which are pre-customized, and you can only choose things like what blade to include, blade plug belt clip...etc. They get shipped out in a week or two and they're awesome. Then they have their custom sabers. These are any of their saber models and you can completely choose how you want it. The finish, the configuration, button type and color, covertec wheel color, you can even sometimes get small special things done like minor acid etching and powder coating. These have a lead time of 16-20 weeks but usually arrive within 6-12 weeks. Lastly there's their masterpiece line which is just like their custom line but even more customization. You can design your own custom pattern to acid etch onto the hilt and have any powder coating you want within reason. You have a direct line of contact with a design team for it. This has a lead time of 16-20 weeks from design confirmation which can be 2-4 weeks after purchase. Most people's sabers arrive between 18-25 weeks after purchase, but some have taken as long as 30 weeks. I know you're more into the replica hilts, but you should consider getting a custom Finding the Force hilt made with them.

If you want to hear a long wait, the 7chambers and Veracity labs Luke ROTJ V2 run has been going on for over 2 years now for an empty hilt. There were a TON of production issues. And in terms of waits in hilts I install my own sabers so even if I wait a long time I don’t have to worry about a botched install, so that’s good

I had the same situation with Korbanth. I purchased the SK2 rogue master and after waiting 3 months I believe there were some issues. The auxiliary button started the same thing you had with the aux button. Also a lot of the parts did not align properly. When I posted some questions on how to fix the issue Korbanth would as me to remove the video of the issue on some FB lightsaber pages/forums. I sent it back to have it fixed and after they took a few weeks to fix the issue they wrapped the hilt with the straps that were included. I didn’t want that wrapped so I just asked for my money back. Too many people responding to different emails I sent for updates and different answers from different people for the same question. Randy did refund me my purchase. I was so bummed because this was the first really large purchase. Spending over 700 on a saber. That should and waiting that long… it killed my buzz. This was before the pandemic if I remember correctly. But SaberTrio has restored my faith in the saber industry.

Every third party saber company should have a “ready to ship” section like korbanth and saber trio. When paying a premium price for a custom product or even a generic product with custom internals, I don’t expect the shipping to be super fast. I’d rather wait longer for it to get to my house in working order.

I have a one replica graflex that I bought empty and had a installer which I wont mention his name but he used to much hot glue that I ever seen, I tested it and everything and it was terrible. I even sent it to him about a couple of times then he didn't want to fix it for me because it was all about his time " if you work with me then i can work with you" so instead i sent it to solo sabers and that man did a good job. after a while I sold it because i wanted to get a more screen accurate graflex so I ended up getting the amount of money I needed and got a new 89 sabers graflex for 180 from a sale and got babu sabers to install it and till today i still got my beautiful graflex.

You would have cried your life being me. Ordered my very first saber from Vader's Vault. Ordered a Flex Kyber edition. Took a year and two months to process the order and get it shipped! I was aware the delay could be very long and was prepared to it.. Got my precious, it's movie accurate couldn't be happier with the build quality. Oh and mine was 1200$ us, convert that in canadian currency with the custom fees, it goes to 2k..

I once ordered two Champion level Neopixels from SaberForge, and the ETA was 2-3 months. It took them 9 to ship them, and one of the blades didn't work at all in the hilt. Took nearly a year to get ahold of their Kenobi lightsaber after they finally fixed it.

I have had a recent experience with Theory sabers......both have board issues and I wanted a last minute change and it never happened. Now we are trying to figure out what to do. Im refusing to send anything back. They need to fix this on them. Almost 500$ and its been a nightmare.

Yeah, I think Korbanth offers really good quality Hilts which are usually very screen accurate…. BUT like you said if you get the electronics through them you are gambling.. I bought 1 install from them and since I have bought empty hilts and had them installed elsewhere or just used them as a static display hilt .

Like, if I sold them, it's probably likely not everyone is gonna get into spinning and test durability on these in that kind of way, but I do want to be sure I'm giving people something that's at least trying to stay together, lol. I have quite a love/hate relationship with Kylo Ren's lightsaber. I like it, it's cool, but it kind of bugs me at the same time. I feel like in the new movies they did way too much experimental stuff with lightsabers, and I'm not a fan. Don't get me wrong, they did it in the sequels too, but I feel like I can make an exception for Darth Maul's double blade and Mace Windu's purple blade. I actually almost bought the Force FX Kylo Ren lightsaber, but instead I sprung for the much cheaper Ultimate FX Darth Vader lightsaber (which by the way died, RIP). All in all, I'm sad that this was a bad experience, especially considering the absurd price tag.

Bruh, horrible experience, sorry you had to put up with that. SO, I do have a pretty bad story that led me to the way I purchase now, was the driving force, you could say. DX Sabers( DO NOT BUY FROM THEM). I purchased the Ahsoka Rebels Proffie 2 hilt set for around $500+, this guy was the only one that had them T the time. I ordered after speaking with the owner about completion times, etc. So I place an order, the appt time goes by. Basically called and emailed for almost 6 months. Con't getting excuses. Got a final E mail saying would ship in 2 weeks, very apologetic, bla bla bla. That time passed. I was done. Called my CC company and started a charge back. When this happened, they magically shove " Something" in the mail. I told them it was too late, I didn't want it anymore, they said "too bad, were shipping it anyway." Let the CC company know of the shenanigans. Now this is a $500, 2 saber order, 5 months over due. The package arrived in a "tootsie roll" container, Something you get a poster in, with 2 lightsabers that were $500+! There was no padding whatsoever, you could hear whatever they sent, sliding back and forth, up and down the tube. I DIDN'T EVEN OPEN IT! DX even tried to pretend they had decision making power and tried to act like they were denying my CC chargeback. I sent it back the next day. Never opened it and got my money back from my CC. DX IS THE WORST I E EVER DEALT WITH. These guys were a nightmare, I was lied to over and over again, which I documented, and EVERYONE SHOULD STEAR CLEAR OF DX SABERS!

@Finding The Force Yeah, they're pretty bad. I watched a breakdown of the chassis from DX with an electronics expert. The expert found DX had been using substandard wiring and parts that couldn't handle the power loads required for their sabers. It also seemed like they hadn't dealt with an adult who knew what was up. I'm sure they screwed many people over, I'm surprised they're still in business, TBH. Pure dumpster fire, stay as far away as possible. Plus, they had a prepared response to the fact that the items were damaged, which I didn't verify because I sent the package back without looking at the contents. There was no reason to open it, you could hear the hilts sliding back and forth and were definitely sent unpadded. I'm sure it was all broken anyway.

I look at it this way.. it’s a Kylo Ren Saber. And a really high end one. I think I would send it out again to fix it a little more and re glue stuff and just take it for what it is. It should be cursed IMO being Kylos saber it makes for a cool story of it being kinda cursed in a way and I wouldn’t mind that from having one of his sabers at all. Kinda adds to the coolness of it IMO

Actually, it is 100% the general contractors job to check the work of everyone they hire. They check it before the inspectors show up to do an actual building inspection. The general contractor most definitely checks the final product before the customer receives it. I’m guessing it was a bad analogy on your part or are you say it was Randy’s fault for not checking it?

I’m pretty sure that blade glitching is due to the volume. It was happening with my 89 sabers skinny flex I lowered the volume a bit and it totally stopped hope this helps

I am going on 13 months waiting on a saber from Vaders Vault. I feel the pain every single week.

That sucks, but it is Vader's Vault - however this year they have started doing ready to ships and are no longer taking special orders. I spoke to them at Megacon and this has all been confirmed in-person. The longest wait time is now around 1 week for a ready to ship saber.

@@SpaceWizardCosplay I didn’t mind the wait at first. But the part that gets me is the zero communication between where they are at with the saber and getting back to me. I messaged at the 13 month mark about what’s going on with the saber and it’s been three weeks without any kinda reply. You would think if the saber takes longer then their posted extended wait time average they would at least say something about it to me in a direct message.

I have been looking at Anakin replicas for my first lightsaber, but now I'm discouraged. I'm willing to pay $400, but if you can't get a $1300 dollar saber to work, then what's the point? I just want one that looks decent (doesn't have to be 'perfectly' screen accurate), so if anyone has suggestions on where to purchase one I will use as a display mainly, please help.

Was it done with a Proffie board and if you get a chance check the SD card any respectable programmer should put the config file on there, so you will have no further problems with anyone else who does work on it

So I bought a $175 Kylo Ren lightsaber I ordered back in January and when it finally came two weeks later. I put all the blades in and turned it on nothing happened so I was like um ok so I checked the batteries cause I thought maybe they didn't include them which they did include them and I found one of them was corroded.

You, the buyer, should not be responsible for return shipping for mistakes that YOU didn't make. It is the seller's responsibility, regardless of company size, to ensure their product arrives to the buyer in the described and satisfactory condition. Any sellers that don't comply to these rules, should be hit with a buyer protection claim.

Bro I just started watching your videos and I noticed in this one that at the end after all those mistakes they made you still try to make them look good.... Though you were true about everything that happened, I would not be talking good about that company... To me that's unacceptable $1,000 is a lot of money for somebody like me to be paying for a toy that will be hanging on the shelf of my house... And then have to go through all that bullshit for a YEAR damn near, fuck it and fuck that company...

That’s just how the Saber market is. These are hobbyist build type sabers and in general they’re high maintenance. Sounds like you need to just stick with your cheap oversized Disney sabers if you’re worried about stuff like that.

HELP! I got a saber ep 3 obi wan neopixel, and my blade i got with it had circle marks on the bottom AND the top typically where the screws go but they were bigger circles than the screws so im wondering if thats normal

You are correct incorrect on alot of points. Understanding boards and what they are capable of is very important. Proffie is unlimited as others are very limited. And not all sabers come with Allen keys

I have been very happy with my Galaxy’s edge saber collection. They are “affordable” and for the most part, they get the job done. Paying more for a lightsaber I feel, to me, is not worth the money and your experience only cements that. You paid a lot and still had to paid more to get it right.

No, if I wait for more than the given shipping time, refund. I wont wait. I a patient, but I am not lazy patient. If my saber has more than two problems, and by two, I mean like. Oh, one screw was loose, or the battery was bad, ok those are excuseable. For a 200 dollar saber. For 1300? No. Absolutely not. Immediate refund. No, there is no chance to fix it, no chance to remedy the situation. If I pay that much for a replica, it better work, or lower the price. I had Aliexpress sabers as my dueling beater sabers, and they have worked better than some 300+ dollar sabers. I have bought from Crimson Dawn, and Imperial Workshop, sabers got here within a week. I bought Fram Damien saber. Long story, but saber finally arrived after getting a refund, and having the saber lost in transit twice.

I've seen Korbanth is way overpriced. I've seen the same lightsabers sold elsewhere with the same components for a good bit cheaper than these guys. I doubt I'd ever buy from them

There is no freakin' way I'd accept having to pay shipping for a $1000 lightsaber that wasn't assembled correctly in the first place. You're being way to forgiving in that regard, "Industry Standard" or not. That's Industry BS if that's the case.

Saberforge stepped up big time from what they once were they were bad as ultra sabers but got better and my favorite, convenient and quick and worth it budget or if you want to go all out is custom darkwolf sabers.
