Simon, you respond better than anyone else on tour. I love how Jussi is like "this is how i want to see you". Then your other teammate punches the ground when he misses a shot and breaks his hand. I wonder why Jussi likes your reactions!! haha

Boss: "Now you shank it to the right..." Boss, on a different hole: "So you didn't get to the ladies tee?" B, diff hole: "What were you thinking?" B: "Tyyni (tournament) was you your worst finish of the season, right?" B: "Nice little mid-range straight into the water." B: "Do you like trees?" B: "A little soft. And weak." But then. Boss: "It's great to see that you just missed your putt for eagle right? And what are you doing? You're smiling. It's heartwarming that one of the most talented players in the world... is a human. And the human side is really important." SO good. And yes, Jussi, very heartwarming. And highly entertaining. Thanks so much for posting. And always smile.

Simon is my favorite player purely because of what Jussi said, he is fun to watch and he never gets upset or throws tantrums. His style is to throw the big shots and go for it rather than play it safe which is what draws people in.
@postscript31505 жыл бұрын
This video just gave me a lot more respect for Discmania as a brand. Jussi Meresmaa, thank you for being a good example of a compassionate person. You drew out the best in Simon even during watching the video of his errors. It's an honor to throw the plastic you sell; keep caring for people.

Simon is so humble he has no clue why fans love him. It's who you are as a person, not just the fact you're an elite series pro disc golfer. You have a fun spirit that makes watching you fun. Even if it's a double/triple bogey. The fun is still there and it rubs off on to the fans. I started playing disc golf 2 years ago as a way to go out and have fun with my sons. No negative energy, bad shots, good shots, laugh at the tees the trees and the baskets. Simon is the epitome of that energy.

Simon to most of us, you are the most entertaining Disc Golfer to watch. You always have a smile on your face and you throw the most wicked "Simon lines" out there and its awesome to watch. Jussi is such a good person, and that's why he's so drawn to you, Simon, because you're such a good person, too. You're always fun to watch, winning or not! Your 3-putt double bogeys just make you more relatable.

Jussi's ending comments there were awesome. Uplifting a good person in a great sport. I can't imagine the trials of what pdga pros go thru on that stage and in their personal lives, after following almost all the tourneys these past several years. It's cool to see.

Straight power move, Simon. Bringing your boss in to watch the worst of your year. XD But seriously, we as fans have mad respect for your composure during these situations. You are one of the players we strive to be like when we are having a bad round. Being able to smile in the worst of times or shrug off bad shots or even self deprecation without being toxic is SO HARD TO DO. You are on another plane of existence that we all hope to reach man. Keep doing what you do, we love it.

I feel like having the human highlight reel devoting a video to his double bogies with his boss watching and wondering why he is doing this shows that hes not only human but can recognize his mistakes and is humble enough to point out his own flaws with the classic Simon self disappointment. Thanks. That was funny. BTW, put a danger rating on each throw. OB, slopes, trees kicks, etc. If high danger, take off some of that power for accuracy or safety? Also, I can't putt worth squat. So I try and get my approach shots within 5-10 ft, I'm sorry, 2-3m. :) Sure Simon can hit 10m putts easy, but 3m is a lot safer. Great post. Do more, please.

I've been strugglin at my new home course in weekly competions. I have now ruined my rounds taking triple-bogey or worse in hole 15 with my putting(in my defence it's very fast green and I don't layup), but seeing you struggle maybe I have to change my tactics and play smart for a change. And I don't know why it's always the same hole maybe it's in my head those previous missputts. But mistakes teaches us so maybe next we make few less bogeys and improve also Great video as always .
