Such an interesting and candid video! I think you're right - sometimes people discover yoga during times of personal difficulty, when perhaps it didn't make much sense before. I guess it's about context, and making that connection between mind and body through the breath etc. Loved it, and have a few qs about your practice I'd like to ask sometime if that's OK. Thanks Jess! 💚🙏

Yes, totally agree! Please ask away 😊

Thanks Jess - I've been practising yoga for a couple of years now with a fantastic teacher, and I would like to extend my practice to include certain peak asanas that aren't currently taught such as hanumanasana, which I think would help in other asanas too. Could you offer any tips on this please? Also out of interest, were you always naturally flexible, or is all through yoga? Would love to hear more about your experience. Thanks again and namaste 🙏

@@paulb1699 I think the best thing to do is keep a consistent practice going to build your flexibility, particularly with hanumanasana. A lot of teachers won't necessarily go for the peak poses you're right but you can build up to them within your own practice and then give them a go. A lot of my more advanced learning I did myself at home, just trying a lot of things out but using the foundations that I'd learned in classes or through other teachers. Hope this makes sense! I was naturally flexible as a child but lost it through my teenage years. Yoga definitely brought it back for me but I am also hyper mobile which means my flexibility can range a bit further than the norm!

Thanks Jess - that's great advice. If you have time to do a lesson on it I'd really appreciate it, but thx again so much for sharing! Looking forward to hearing more about your experience and journey 🙏

Love your vids! If you don't mind me asking could you tell me if you've always been as flexible (gymnastics as a child ect) or did you just progress as much as did from the start of your yoga journey? Thank you 😊
@Holayogajess4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! So I definitely wasn’t this flexible when I started yoga but I am hyper mobile and double jointed so I’m naturally flexible anyway and progressed quite quickly! Yoga definitely got me there though :)
